What husband, wife, partner, girlfriend, boyfriend or just plain old friend wouldn’t love a pair of socks with their nearest and dearests face on it, well as the ultimate Christmas gift for my husband, that’s exactly what I have done. I have super easily uploaded a photo to Printster, (the very latest personalised gift company we have collaborated with for our most recent review) and had my photo made into a pair of personalised socks. These socks are so unique as they have my face all over them, which I know my husband will find hilarious when he opens them. What’s more is, he loves to wear crazy socks and what can be crazier than having someone’s face dotted all over them!
Printster has a huge range of items that you can personalise for your own enjoyment or as a perfect gift for the people you love. The gifts range from personalised mugs, where you can make them as exclusive as you like with a photo, or with a name and message, or personalised wrapping paper, paper masks that can be printed with whoever’s birthday you might be celebrating, magnets, cards, socks and more. If you like the sound of this keep reading to find out what we thought of the gifts we had made up for this review and how you can win a voucher for £50 from Printster.
What we thought of the personalised gifts we received
Our gift range included the following items, five personalised mugs containing a cute bag of jelly beans, a single sheet of personalised wrapping paper, a personalised thank 5×7 thank you card, and a pair of face socks.
The mugs were well packed in a plain cardboard box with a good amount of bubble wrap protecting them, you could also have had a gift box, however, these cost extra, and we chose instead to have each mug with a bag of sweets inside, which I thought would be more fun. The mugs a lovely thickness and we chose ones with silly or cute illustrations and our names on them, as I thought this was more fun for us than a photo.
Each mug has the names clearly marked and it was really easy to order, I went to the mug page selection and selected the type of mug I wanted, then once clicked on that image, I was taken to the individual mug page where I was able to write either a message or a name – I as mentioned, chose a name, then once you had typed in you could review your item. I particularly liked this feature as it allows you to preview what the mug will look like, before buying, and check for spelling errors before you add it to the basket.
Our second item was the sheet of wrapping paper, I chose to upload a picture of my cousin’s statue in Blackpool. She is an artist (Lou Chapelle previously known as Laurence Payot) and a few months ago unveiled her latest work, a statue situated at the North Pier in the Centre of Blackpool in the UK. I thought it would be really fun to take the face of her statue and make it into some really unique wrapping paper, so I could get her a present to celebrate this amazing achievement and wrap it in her very own creation.
The paper is more like a print than traditional shiny wrapping paper, but that being said it is perfect for making your gift extra special. Again the process for this was straightforward, you simply click on the wrapping paper you would like to personalise, and then upload your image, Printster, will then cut out the face from the photo you upload. If there is more than one face you can just indicate which one you would like in the Printster will sort out the rest. They will edit the photo and cut it out and then create a repeating pattern with the photo face you have chosen for your paper! It is so fun, as you can really create such one-off pieces.
The next item is a thank you card, this worked pretty much like many other online personalised card manufacturers worked, you uploaded your chosen photo, and then in the boxes added your text/message to add that personalised touch inside as well as on the outside of the card. There are lots of different card themes to choose from, so whether its for a birthday, or to celebrate a special achievement (like exams or going off to Uni) you’re covered, and of course you can use the template provided or upload images and your own message to make the item as unique as you like.
Finally, the socks! These socks closely followed by the mugs have to be my favourite items. The socks are just so silly that they are bound to make whoever receives them smile. For these socks again the process is much the same as the wrapping paper, you upload your image, make clear which face you would like to use and then the rest is taken care of by Printster. I would say the only downside is that you can’t have more than one face, as I would have liked to have used our three kids on one pair of socks, but they are still totally hilarious with just my face on!
As mentioned, I chose the full face socks which means this is the basis of the pattern (see photos), but there are other socks that have other themes. For example, there are some that have a sort of confetti print in the background and then the image of your chosen face as decoration or they have dog bones as the background and you can then upload an image of your dog for the decoration part, these are great for people who love their pets! Whatever you choose, you can guarantee a completely laugh out loud outcome and a really great gift.
