CHATTING WITH ISOBEL COULTER
We chat with Show Manager, Isobel Coulter, and this is what she had to say.
Isobel: “This is my 4th year organising the Flower Show at Tatton Park and we are expecting more than 500 exhibitors who will be there selling all sorts of things from rare and common plants to indoor and outdoor decorative items for your garden. Out of the 500 exhibitors who are coming, more than 90 of them are plant specialist who are very knowledgeable, so it would be a great opportunity for visitors to chat to experts and get insight knowledge on plants.”
Isobel adds: “One of our main attraction this year would be the garden designs, we have about 22 garden designers and landscape architects who will be featuring their designs. The design space can range anywhere from 6m x 4m up to 20m x 20m. This will be an opportunity for new and experienced designers to showcase their skills or communicate a message to the public. For example, one of the designer will be displaying how a dementia sufferer might benefit from living in a beautiful space.
“Its our last big show of the season and it will be a celebration of colours and everything summer. It will be the show’s 19th year this year and we can’t wait for it.”

Isobel adds : “There will be over 2,000 beautiful exotic butterflies in the specially created Tropical Butterfly Dome. Visitors can wonder around the wonderland of magical beauty as they watch the butterflies fly freely in the space. Children will especially find this a mesmerising experience as they learn more about butterflies and their facinating life cycle.”
“There will also be lots of wildlife themed kids activities taking place such as planting flowers, wormery, bug hunting trails to keep the kids entertained. With so many things happening, parents can easily spend a whole day at the Flower Show . There will be sufficient catering stands available on the day offering a variety of food and drinks to the visitors. Eighteen schools will also be participating in the wildlife school gardens build with lots of giant floral bugs and sculptures based on books.
Don’t forget, Saturday is Family Day!
