If you have been following our blog, you would know that we recently blogged on how you can get yourself a FREE Brisket Burger from Gourmet Burger Kitchen (GBK) worth £9.95. If you missed that post, don’t worry, here’s the link. It is not too late, you can still get your hands on this yummy burger until 14 November. So read the earlier post to find out how.
We were lucky enough to be invited by GBK at their branch based at intu Potteries in Hanley to try out this much talked about burger. Read on to find our more about it.
We arrived for lunch at just ten past noon (they open at noon) and were surprised to find that there were already 3-4 tables being occupied. The burger joint is definitely a crowd favourite so if you want a table, do head there early. The store was clean and the staff were friendly, we sat at the table and waited for the staff to bring in the menu, we decided what we wanted and headed to the counter to place our order. Although we had plenty of choices, we just had to try the much talked about Brisket Burger and decide for ourselves if it was worth the money.
We decided to order the Brisket Burgers (£9.95) and two sides which as the Small Skinny Fries (£3.30) as well as the Small Chunky Skin-on Fries (£3.30). For our drink we wanted to follow the theme and order Vanilla and Chocolate Milkshakes (£4.55) which came in a Silver Tumbler.
Our burger arrived and it looked appetizing, we had our beef done medium. The burger itself looked substantial with the 6oz burger patty, the edam cheese, and the 2oz beef Brisket. We loved the picked cucumbers, house relish and the crunchy paprika onions were totally yummy. The burger bun was not your ordinary bun but a pretzel bun which gave it a nice unique look.
The chips were super yummy, our personal favourite had to be the skinny chips as it takes ages to finish it and the perfect side when you are out and about with friends just chatting for hours. We definitely can’t fault the milkshakes, made using Yeo-Valley ice-cream they tasted moreish especially the chocolate shake which has little chocolate chips at the bottom of the tumbler. The burger was totally delicious. The pretzel bun gave the burger a distinct look and the brisket was well cooked and tender. We loved the pickled cucumber and paprika onions which were crispy. The burger was substantial and was filled with lots of flavours. Although we loved it to bits, it does not beat our all time favourite burger, the Five Guys Burger, but, this comes really close!
What we love about GBK?
You can go naked…no not like that..what we mean is you can replace your bun with homeslaw and a choice of simple green salad or chargrilled corn for a healthier option.

Allergen Menu which clearly indicates the listed ingredients
They also have a Gluten Free Menu
