Family Pantomime Aladdin opens at Regent Theatre in 3D

The much awaited Aladdin opens at the Regent Theatre in Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent next week and we can’t wait to go watch it!!  Starring crowd favourites, Jonny Wilkes and Christian Patterson, these two funny men will once again team up for another spectacular panto performance.

Baddeley Green born showman Jonny Wilkes will make his 12th Regent panto appearance as the hero Aladdin. No stranger to the stage, Jonny has enjoyed a varied stage career including lead roles in Chicago, The Rocky Horror Show, Guys and Dolls and Grease, and held hosting duties on You’ve Been Framed and Love on a Saturday Night on television.  Joining him as Widow Twankey, Christian Patterson stars alongside Jonny for the 8th time in the stage partnership that delights Stoke audiences year after year. Trained at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, Christian has held roles in The Woman in Black, Journey’s End and Matilda, and is currently appearing in My Country; a work in progress at the National Theatre.

Audiences will follow Aladdin, and his mother Widow Twankey, on a spectacular adventure featuring a 3D friendly wish-granting genie, an evil sorcerer and a lamp-full of laughs and, for the first time in a Regent panto, a spectacular 3D sequence which will send audiences flying over Old Peking and beyond on a magical flying carpet ride. So be prepared to be entertained wearing your 3D glasses.

Aladdin will be produced by Qdos Entertainment, the world’s biggest pantomime producer in a brand new partnership with Regent Theatre operators, ATG. Led by Nick Thomas and Michael
Harrison, Qdos Entertainment is the world’s biggest pantomime producer with over 35 years’ experience in staging over 670 top-drawer pantomimes to its credit.   Audiences should make tickets to Aladdin one of their three wishes this festive season by hopping aboard a magic carpet and flying to the Box Office today!
