3 Health Check Ups You Shouldn’t Neglect **

Regular check ups if you want to stay healthy but most of us aren’t having them often enough. Whether it’s because you’re too busy, or you just don’t think that you need a check up, we’re all guilty of neglecting our health sometimes. People often think that just because they feel healthy, there can’t be anything wrong. That’s not the case and there are all sorts of serious health problems you could have that won’t show any symptoms until the later stages when they’ll be far harder to treat. To make sure that you’re always in good health, it’s time to stop neglecting these health check ups.

This is one of the most commonly ignored health check ups out there, mainly because you can’t get it free most of the time. People are more likely to go to the doctors for other tests and screenings when they’re free but people neglect the dentist because they don’t want to pay unless they’ve got a specific problem. The issue is, if you do get some kind of infection in your gums or teeth, that’s it. If you let it get out of hand then you’ll have to have teeth removed and replaced with false ones. It doesn’t cost that much for a general check up and you only need it done once a year so there’s no reason to put it off.

Cholesterol And Blood Pressure

Heart health is incredibly important, especially as you get older. However, most people think that they don’t need to start worrying about it until they’re well into their 60’s. That’s not the case and anybody over the age of 35 should be vigilant, especially if you’re not eating a healthy diet. Anybody over the age of 40 is eligible for a free blood pressure and cholesterol check which will tell you whether your heart is in good shape or not. If you’ve got high cholesterol, you’ll have to make some changes to your diet to make sure that you stay healthy so it’s important that you know as soon as possible if your cholesterol levels are too high.

Eye Tests

When you get your eyes tested they’re checking to see whether your eyes are deteriorating and if you need glasses. Getting glasses right away will stop the problem from getting worse but if you neglect the test and just leave it, you’ll strain your eyes and your sight will get a lot worse than it needs to be. But eye tests aren’t just about vision which is why it’s a good idea to get one regularly, even when you’re fairly young. An eye test can also show up the early signs of diabetes or glaucoma which are both far more serious problems. Anybody can have issues with their sight from any age and you can get free ones so, although it’s more likely when you’re older, don’t think you don’t need to worry about it because you’re young.

We all neglect our health from time to time and most of us just wait until there’s a problem before we go to the doctors. You need to stop thinking that way and starting getting these check ups regularly.
