We love to travel, be in locally for walks, admiring hills, lakes, bird watching or camping
at campsites and even heading overseas to a distant land on adventures with the whole family. Hence we were happy to be contacted by Simply Hike
, a hiking and camping store to review two of their products on our blog. The British Company which is based in Kent sent us two Jack Wolfskin products, which is a highly successful outdoor wear and accessory brand from Germany. They were founded in the late 1990’s and have been producing top outdoor products since. So when we had the chance to try, the Jack Pot De Luxe Rucksack and Vent Pro Cap, we were really excited. Well at least my dad and my husband were! So armed with the two items, we decided to head out to the countryside in Staffordshire to test it. Do read on to find out what we thought about it.
Jack Wolfskin Vent Pro Cap
For our review, let’s start with the black Vent Pro Cap which is designed to keep your head cool and fresh on warm weather adventures. There is mesh inserts in the cap to encourage air flow, as well as Quick Moisture Control technology that wicks away sweat. We used this cap on our hike and felt that it was really comfortable to wear. In terms of looks, it is a fairly standard looking cap, however, it is so light and made from an airy fast-drying lightweight fabric. I did not feel hot at all whilst wearing it, although it wasn’t the hottest day of the year when we tried it out. Overall I would say that this cap is worth it all be in a little plain in colour and style – but if you want something that is functional too, then this would be the type to purchase. The Vent Pro Cap
retails for £14 as its currently on discount from its normal selling price of £20

Jack Wolfskin Jack Pot De Luxe Rucksack
Next, we review Jack Wolfskin Jack Pot De Luxe Rucksack, this bag has an endless amount of compartments and pockets, which I particularly enjoyed exploring prior to taking it out on a little hike in the Moors where my dad lives. In total there are at least 2 compartments and 5 pockets…. it also has a compartment for tablet / ipad, which I didn’t use on the day but can confirm one does fit quite neatly inside. I did however, have my laptop with me and I did use the laptop case inside which is great as its padded and would really protect your tablet if you were going long distance or if it fell to the ground. I packed in the bag a small lunch, a few bottles of water and some bits like anti-allergy medicine (as my daughter is allergic to horses but still insists on stroking them whenever we come across them on walks!). It would have comfortably fitted three times the amount of what I actually packed, such as a full adult change of clothes, more toiletries, scissors, first aid kit – both my computer and tablet, plus wires and batteries. I even think I could have comfortably packed on top of that my camera with large lens. My dad wore the bag for most of our walk and he found it really comfortable to wear even with the amount of water we were carrying. It also had a full rain cover, which is great, as with space for electrical’s you don’t want it to get wet inside in any way. Simply Hike website describes the rucksack as “perfect for commuting and everyday use and comes with a removable laptop case and accessories bag as well as a raincover to ensure all your essentials and electronics stay dry”. The Jack Pot De Luxe Rucksack costs £63, which is discounted at the moment as it normally retails for £90. So you are getting both items at a great price. Especially the rucksack which I think, has been made really well with a great spec and is extremely good quality.

Points to note
Simply Hike’s website is really easy to navigate and sell all kinds of outdoor products including Jack Wolfskin products which includes outdoor clothing, footwear, sampling items (such as tents and sleeping bags), hiking gear, bags and ski wear and gear, which is fab. I will definitely be looking on here again, especially if we get to go skiing again!
