As a family who loves taking photographs and often enough carry some sort of camera with us whenever we head out, we love cameras and all things gadgets and tech like. So today’s blog post and review is very special to us as we are reviewing Polaroid Snap Touch Instant Digital Camera one of Polaroid’s latest camera. Invented by Edwin Land in 1909 in Connecticut, the name Polaroid has been legendary and synonymous to instant photography for a very long time. Hence, we are very proud to add Polaroid into the league of brands we have worked with and share with you details about the all-in-one camera and printer, its specs and what we thought about it in our blogger review.
We recently had the opportunity to take the camera with us on our holiday abroad to The Netherlands for three days which was great as we had time to learn more about it while we were on our holiday. The camera is compact, really easy to use as well as handy, as we took it everywhere. The battery was long lasting and lasted us for all three days even with our constant use. The camera came packaged very nicely with a packet of 10 2″ x 3″ photo sheets, a USB charging cable, a magnetic clip-on lens cover, a wrist strap and some instructions. The 13MP camera which comes with a 3.4mm lens is currently sold in white, black, red, purple, blue and pink but we decided to pick black as that stood out for us.
Setting up the camera was very easy, the little instruction booklet was clear and we easily filled up the photo paper and charged the camera and viola…it was ready to use. The shutter button is clearly marked in red (next to the ‘on and off button’ of the camera) and soon as it is pressed a little music is played and the in-built flash pops up. The camera could only store about 15 images, hence we would recommend getting a separate microSD card for the camera for easier storage of images and videos. Yes, you read right! The camera is also able to take 1080p/720p HD video at a press of a button. There is no toner or ink needed to print the photos only the 2×3ʺ sticky-back paper prints are needed to print the photos. The photo paper is water-resistant, tear-resistant, smudge-proof, and was dry to the touch as it slowly came out of the camera.

About the Polaroid 2×3 inch Premium Zink Photo Paper
You will need to purchase the Polaroid premium zink photo paper to get the photos printed. The photo quality is good for everyday shots but not as great as a professional photo lab. As parents, we found the print option really great as when we need to quickly fill up our kid’s homework book with photos from a recent holiday trip or activity, this can be done at the comfort of our home and save us the time and effort in getting the photos printed (especially if you tend to do your kid’s homework last minute like us). The photo paper also has a sticky back so you can peel off the back and stick it anywhere.
The zink photo paper is affordable and environmentally friendly as it eliminates the need for costly film and wasteful cartridges, ink, and toners. Did you know that Zero Ink technology is a natural printing solution that is easy to load into your camera and prints in a single pass? The Zink paper is treated with a glossy, protective polymer overcoat that is water resistant, tear resistant, smudge proof, and dry to the touch so its great and lasts a lot longer and are fade resistant as well even when exposed to light, heat, and humidity. The Zink photo paper can cost anywhere from £9.99 for a pack of 20 sheets to £24.99 for a pack of 50 sheets, you can order them from Amazon here.

What did we think of it?
We are photo buffs and love all things cameras! In our house, we each have a camera (even the kids) and we tend to use everything from smartphone camera, compact cameras, video cameras to DSLR cameras depending on where we are headed to and what we are photographing. Hence we totally loved the fact that our newest camera could immediately print the photo just with a click. To be honest, I have always been fascinated with the Polaroid camera, even as a child. I remember my first trip to the Zoo and I had a chance to ride a horse, and the cameraman snapped a photo of me using an old Polaroid camera and gave the photo to me. I must have been about 7 years-old then but it is a photo I still keep with fond memories.
With our trip to Amsterdam, the whole family, including my 7-year-old and my 5-year-old had a chance to take photos on the Polaroid, choose which photo we wanted to print and then print it immediately. It was a fabulous experience and the joy of seeing the image come to life was immense as we did not have to wait to get it printed. Also having the paper inserted into the camera meant that we did not have to carry another gadget ie a mobile printer (if we wanted to print our photos) with us. The Polaroid Snap Touch Camera is light, compact, trendy and captured candid images beautifully. It is also light and super easy to use…. even my 5-year-old managed to print the photos on his own and the touch screen was simple enough to navigate. We only wished that the camera casing came in the original kit as this is sold separately. We are recommending you get it as the Polaroid camera’s surface scratches easily without it.
