Keep on reading to find out more about these products as well as some important travel tips you need to follow to make your trip smooth and hassle free.
Online Check-in and Other Essentials
Before you set off on your travel, remember to find out if you can check your flight online as most Airlines encourage passengers to do this to avoid queuing at the airport and to avoid delays. This would also mean that you will be able to pre-book your flight seats (on some airlines). Do also make sure that you have all your essentials such as currency, credit card, phrase book (or google app downloaded) if you are travelling to a foreign country, visa documents, travel insurance documents as well as flight details and passports. Do remember to read the airport guidelines on what items you are allowed to carry/bring in your luggage bag. Also, do take note that most batteries are allowed to be checked in except for lithium batteries (which are mostly used in DSLR cameras).
How to look flawless when flying
Looking flawless when flying is actually an easy task to achieve. You want to be seen as using less makeup and having a more natural look. As a mum who literally takes less than 10 minutes to get dresses before I leave the house. I have found a foundation that takes seconds to apply and does not change my normal morning routine at all! I just need to add one or two drops of the No7 Match Made Custom Blend Foundation into my moisturiser, mix it then apply it onto my face which gives it a seamless look. With 23 skin-true shades, no wonder I was able to find the right tone for my tanned skin which was ‘Wheat’. Priced at £16, the 15ml tube is a definite must have and I now don’t travel without it at all as its the right size to bring on my carry on / hand carry bag. You can head to any No7 counter at any Boots store to check on samples to find your right shade, you can purchase this at the store or online here.
Pack Light Travel Light
I don’t know about you, but when I travel, I tend to pack everything with me…with the notion of ‘I might need it’ or ‘just in case’ and I have been told often enough that if I could pack the kitchen sink, I would. As a mum of two and someone who loves photography and food, yes my hand carry and luggage bag can be full of all sorts things which I may (and most of the time…may not) need during my travels. When I travel, I usually tend to plan a night out with the girls or a special dinner with the family and take the opportunity to dress up. I often leave my heavy set of makeup brushes home until I discovered the MASQD travel light face toolset. The set comes with a foundation brush, concealer brush, blusher brush, contour brush, eye colour brush, eyeliner brush, lip as well as a lip liner brush. Priced at £14, you can purchase your MASDQ Travel Set here.
Keep hydrated and moisturized when flying
Drink plenty of water and try to avoid drinking too much alcohol and caffeinated drinks such as tea and coffee when you are on a flight. Keeping hydrated is so important as you will feel fresh and your skin nourished. I personally find carrying a lip balm as well as my moisturiser on long-haul flights keeps my skin nourished and giving it a healthy looking complexion. Infused with organic rosehip extract, the Botanics super balm which comes in a miniature 11ml pot is the perfect size to bring in your purse or hand carry travel pouch as it is under the 100ml liquid travel restriction. The balm retails at £7.99 and you can purchase it here.
Always carry snacks with you when you travel
Having snacks with me when I travel is so essential for me and for my little kids. I always have some nuts, sweets (to help kids swallow to avoid ear popping), chocolates, biscuits and energy bars. I find that we often end up booking flights at odd hours and we tend to be at the airport almost 3 hours (long-haul flight) before our flight departs. So by the time we actually get on the flight and take off (hopefully without any further delays) we are often hungry. So having a quick energy boost is so essential. You can get the Nakd Energy Bars in various flavours such as Carrot Cake, Lemon Drizzle, Blueberry Muffin, Cocoa Coconut, Peanut Delight as well as Bakewell Tart individually from the supermarket or you could buy in bulk from their website here. The wheat, dairy and gluten free bars are so flavoursome and tasted true to what it was supposed to taste and it is made from raw fruits and nuts and contains 100% natural ingredients with no added sugars or syrups. These are great to carry with you on flights and easy to snack on.
