If you grew up in the noughties then you would remember the American romance comedy film, Legally Blonde starring the fresh faced Reese Witherspoon and Luke Wilson hitting the cinemas in 2001. The film was such a success due to its comedy elements that it soon became a house hold name worldwide. The film was so sought after that it was later made into a musical and premiered in San Francisco in 2007. With its huge fan base, it was soon turned into a play and premiered at Broadway and the West End. As fans ourselves, we are happy to announce that this smash hit musical is now coming to The Regent Theatre tonight to wow audiences again.

For those who need reminding, the play is about a beautiful and popular sorority sister Elle Woods who loves to be pampered and is passionate about the colour pink. She’s the president of her sorority, a Hawaiian Tropic girl, Miss June in her campus calendar, and, above all, a natural blonde. She dates the cutest fraternity boy on campus and wants nothing more than to be Mrs. Warner Huntington III. But, there’s just one thing stopping Warner from popping the question: Elle is too blonde. She is soon dumped by Warner for a more serious girlfriend but instead of giving up, she puts down the credit cards and picks up the books. Packing up her trusty pooch, Bruiser, she bags herself a place at the prestigious Harvard Law School to try and win him back. With the support of her new friends she learns that you can be both smart and fashionable.

We saw Lucie Jones in panto and can see her being perfect for the role of Elle. We were lucky enough to see this when Sheridan Smith played her in the west end
