[Ad-gifted] With September fast approaching and my daughter Jemma preparing to start Year One, I have been looking for practical, durable clothing that can handle everything the school day and the British weather can throw at her.

What immediately stood out was how cosy the jacket feels. Jemma has never been a fan of traditional waterproof coats, often complaining that they feel cold against her skin, but she loved the soft fleece lining from the moment she put it on. It provides plenty of warmth without making the coat feel bulky or restrictive, making it ideal for cooler mornings and rainy afternoons.

Classic Kids Wellies

No back-to-school wardrobe is complete without a reliable pair of wellies, and the Classic Kids Wellies in green have quickly become one of Jemma’s favourite pairs of footwear.

The classic green colour gives them a timeless feel, while the yellow sole adds a cheerful pop of brightness. Their longer length makes them feel much more grown-up than the shorter toddler wellies she has worn previously. Jemma immediately loved their more mature style and couldn’t wait to take them on an adventure.

The taller design is not just stylish but practical too, providing extra protection from mud, puddles and wet grass. During testing, Jemma spent plenty of time enthusiastically splashing through puddles and exploring woodland paths, all while staying completely dry.

Comfort is often overlooked when it comes to wellies, but these impressed us on that front too. Jemma happily wore them on a woodland walk lasting more than an hour without any complaints, rubbing or requests to change her shoes. The lightweight construction and grippy sole make them ideal for active children who are constantly on the move.

What we loved about the Muddle Puddles Jacket and Wellies

Both products strike the perfect balance between practicality and style. The jacket’s cosy fleece lining solved Jemma’s usual dislike of waterproof coats, while the thoughtful design details and generous yet flattering fit make it feel like a premium piece of outerwear rather than purely functional clothing.

The wellies offered a welcome step up from toddler styles, with a longer, more grown-up design that Jemma was genuinely excited to wear. Their comfort and durability were put to the test during a lengthy woodland walk and countless puddle-jumping sessions, and they passed with flying colours.
