[Ad-gifted] We had a ball of a time last night ….oh yes we did…at Crewe Lyceum Theatre as we watched Cinderella, The Magical Family Pantomime!

Crewe looked absolutely stunning with its Christmas lights and the festive feeling continued as we entered the theatre.  What I love most about going to the pantomime is the utter joy that is felt at the show.  I love seeing young children as well as grandparents dressed in their Christmas jumpers ready to have a great time, spending quality time with each other.

Like most people, heading to the panto has now become our family tradition and something which we look forward to every year, to get us into the Christmas spirit.

As soon as we arrived at the theatre, we headed upstairs and spotted the Dress Up Box available in front of Cinderella’s Carriage, where kids could get dressed up as Princess, Prince or a Fairy. We took a couple of selfies and then made our way to our seats.   It was a full house and the theatre was buzzing with excitement.

Produced by Imagine Theatre and directed by Bryan Hodgson, we were soon greeted by Malcolm Lord who plays various characters including the Fairy Godmother.  Malcolm is no stranger to pantomime and this is his 35th panto!  As well as, Ste Johnston (who plays Buttons) who kept us in stiches all night long.

The story involves around poor Cinderella (played by Eve Parsons) who works night and day for her step-mother (whom we just get to hear) and her two step-sisters Aroma and Flatula (played respectively by Eleanor Burke and Jordan Cambridge-Taylor).  Eve Parsons manages to captivate the audience with her performance and beautiful singing voice.  I also loved listening to her Glaswegian accent.  Both Eleanor Burke and Jordan Cambridge-Taylor played their characters so flawlessly that the crowd kept booing them each time they came on stage.

Fans of X Factor would immediately recognise Matt Terry who plays Prince Charming, as he was the winner of the 2016 X Factor Talent Show.  Matt charmed the audience with his charisma and also captivated the audience with his beautiful singing voice. Paired with Carl Douglas who plays Dandini, the pair make a great team.

Watching Cinderella at Crewe Lyceum Theatre was just brilliant as the theatre was packed with everyone, young and old, laughing their socks out. Expect over the top costumes, audience participation and lots and lots of laughs.  The perfect festive treat for the whole family.

About Imagine Theatre
