We do hope all our readers are keeping mentally and physically well at home while you practise social distancing, working from home and home-schooling little ones (if you have children). It is finally Friday of week two of self-isolation for us and we are rewarding ourselves for surviving the week with this amazing Bosford Rose Gin. Keep on reading to find out more about the Gin and the gorgeous Dartington Crystal Gin glasses have been elegantly decorated with Swarovski Elements from Farrar and Tanner. Our followers and reader would remember that we have recently featured this in our Valentine’s Day Competition. So to help you imagine what this wonderful gin would taste like I have made two fabulous cocktails that incorporate Bosford Rose Gin and have the extra wow factor by being presented in this totally glitzy glasses!
If you are regulars to our review blog you might know how much I love to make cocktails, some of which you can find here from when we reviewed Luxardo Sour Cherry Gin! Mmm. This time I have decide to create two of my own cocktails (see below for the recipes) to show you how nice it is to experiment with what you might have at home. Gin is also a great base for so many things and allows you to really experiment with flavour combinations. I particularly like zingy sour cocktails but one of my good friends much prefers sweet and fruity ones, so I have made one to suit each palette.
The Bosford Rosé Gin, is lovely and pink in colour, but unlike the name it has been lightly flavoured with Strawberry and Raspberry. It is a blended gin drink and is at 37.5% alcohol. Although the Strawberry and Raspberry flavours have been infused into a 95% Gin to begin with, and once the infusion is complete you get what we have here is this beautiful and fun bottle. The bottle comes presented in a wooden box with wood shavings. What’s unique about this box is you can have it engraved with a special personalised message. Which means that either on Mother’s Day or a special Birthday – its soon to be my Dad’s 70th and I know he’d love a little message on the box – which he would love even more as it contains gin! The gin is similar in taste to a sloe gin although the flavours feel a little more delicate and not quite as sweet. Which means that it won’t overpower anything that accompanies it.
What better way to accompany the gin than two Dartington Crystal Glasses. The glasses are engraved and are detailed with exquisite Swarovski Elements, which really pop. Before using them a gave them a wash with warm soapy water, and when I was drying them, I could hear the sound of the crystal. They chime like bells, which proves their undeniable quality. There is nothing like drinking your gin cocktail from these dome-shaped glasses, and once more you are also able to get them engraved with a short message, adding to how they make the perfect gift.
Here are the two cocktails with descriptions on how they tasted when being incorporated with Bosford Rosé Gin. I have made up the names but feel free to make up your own flavour combinations and make up your own fantastical names to go with them!

Zing Sling
50ml of Bosford Rosé Gin
25ml of orange syrup (or pure sugar orange cordial) – **see recipe below to make your homemade syrup
80ml of freshly squeezed grapefruit juice
Give it all a good mix
Fill your Dartington Crystal Glass with ice & frozen slices of grapefruit* cut into quarters, top the glass with soda water (around 50-70ml) and then garnish with a whole piece of frozen grapefruit.
This cocktail is light in flavour but has a zing to it from the grapefruit, it balances really well with the light fruity flavour of the gin and makes a great refreshing drink. You could also not top it with soda and add a little more grapefruit juice to make it even more zingy!
*I sliced a grapefruit the morning before the review and popped them into the freezer
**For the Orange Syrup you will need, the juice and zest of one orange and one lime and 200g of caster sugar. Put the lime and orange zest into a saucepan. Squeeze the juice from the orange and one lime into a measuring jug see where this comes to and then top up with water up to 100ml (if you have enough juice there is no need to add any water)l. Pour this into your pan with the caster sugar. Heat very gently, stirring occasionally just until the sugar has dissolved, but don’t let it boil. Strain the mixture into a heatproof jug and leave to cool. Makes 280-300ml. Lasts up to two weeks.

Raspberry Gimlet Twist
50ml of Bosford Rosé Gin
1 tsp of raspberry jam (honestly it works!)
25ml of vanilla syrup (the kind you drink in your coffee)
The juice of 1/2 a lime
Give it all a good mix
Fill your glass with half ice half-frozen raspberries, then add your cocktail mix, then top with soda (around 50-70ml) and garnish with
This one is sweet and tastes in some ways like a raspberry cream soda, with the vanilla and the raspberry and lime really making a fruity sweet cocktail. This one is perfect as an after-dinner cocktail and feels a little bit like a dessert. The flavours worked well with the sweet strawberry flavours in the gin too. You could easily swap the raspberry jam for strawberry and the frozen raspberries for frozen strawberries. Try and see what you might come up with.
When using the Bosford Rosé Gin, a good tip when thinking about cocktails that will go with it, is to think what kind of desserts work well. So I know I love strawberries/raspberries and cream hence why I thought about making a variation on a cream soda with my Raspberry Gimlet Gin, and there’s nothing like strawberries and grapefruit salad!

I am loving all the different flavors of gin you can get these days, I am not a big gin drinker but do love it in the summer for some reason. I have not tried this brand yet but will be on the look out now for it x
Gin is a nice refreshing drink to have in the warm summer
Yummy Gin! It is certainly brightening up my Friday isolation evenings! Much needed after this home schooling/home working malarky!
Those glasses are beautiful and add a real touch of class to a lovely looking gin cocktail.
I think I might have to give your recipes a go.
I know, as parents, we need some time to relax unwind and have a cocktail as well
I was a fan of gin before it became popular, but haven’t tried many flavoured gins. This one sounds like it is worth a try, particularly with the cocktail recipes!
Yes totally worth it Becky
I do like a glass of Gin, especially in the sunshine 🙂 I think it’s a lovely idea to get Gin glasses personalised, that would make a nice gift for Gin lovers.
It would indeed especially for special occassion
I love a good gin and this one sounds absolutely delicious – I think I am definitely going to have to try it. I can’t wait until we are able to see friends again as my friend and I love trying new gins together.
Absolutely, I love having gin with friends as well and missing socialising a lot
Those glasses are absolutely gorgeous. Gin seems to be one of the go-to drinks drink now and why not – we all need a bit of a pick me up and the moment.
Yes those glasses are stunning and the gin tastes so much better in those glasses

Rose gin sounds delicious and perfect for cocktails. That raspberry gimlet sounds really good. I have a caramel syrup for my coffee might try it with that instead.

Flavoured gins and the big glasses are always a winner. I have tried Bosford before and rather like it. Now the Swarovski glasses.. so cute. Would be so scared to break them
oh my gosh this is amazing, my housemate and I were talking about practising making cocktails for our future house parties – these recipes are perfect to try! I’m a lover of all things sweet and fruity and she loves refreshing and sour cocktails so we will have to try these out.
How wonderful to hear that, we might as well start practising for when the ban is lifted and we will be having more parties than ever
Yes you must indeed! As the Gin is exquisite
I love a good cocktail and would like to try all of these but out of them all I really like the Zing Sling. I really like the glasses too, the perfect way to enjoy Gin
Yes, not other way to enjoy the Gin indeed!
Loving the sound of the Zing Sling! It’s so great having so many different gin flavours around, I might just have to try them all lol! Those glasses are so pretty too, everything tastes better from a pretty glass!
