Nestled within rolling Staffordshire countryside, the historic hall and its beautifully decorated grounds create a festive atmosphere that feels straight out of a storybook. As winter arrives, Sandon Hall is transformed with twinkling lights, seasonal décor, and the comforting scents of mulled wine and festive treats drifting through the air.
The Christmas market brings together a wonderful mix of artisan stalls, showcasing handcrafted gifts, festive decorations, local food and drink, and unique present ideas you won’t find on the high street. It’s the perfect place to shop thoughtfully while enjoying the experience of the season.
More than just a market, the event offers a chance to slow down, soak up the festive spirit, and make memories with family and friends. Sandon Hall’s Christmas market captures the warmth, tradition, and joy that make Christmas truly special.
What happens during Christmas at Sandon Hall?
There will be lots happening at Sandon Hall this Christmas! To start off there will be the Sandon Hall Christmas Fair which will be taking place on 25 and 26 November 2017. It will be the perfect place to start the festive season. The hall, beautifully decorated for Christmas, will provide the ultimate festive setting, with carol singers and live entertainment throughout both days adding to the seasonal atmosphere. There will lots of exhibitors showcasing and selling Christmas themed presents such as children’s books, toys, handmade jewellery, handcrafted items, artisan cosmetics, kitchenware and locally produced food gifts and others.
There will also be plenty of food and drink choices on the day from traditional Hog Roast baps with all the trimmings to pizzas, paninis and elegant afternoon teas with a festive twist. A licensed bar will serve mulled wine, Christmassy gin cocktails and locally brewed ales while hot chocolates, teas and barista-style coffees will also be on offer.
It will also be the perfect opportunity for you to explore the 50 acres of formal garden so make sure you are dressed nice and warm. There will also be horse drawn carriage rides around the grounds available by prior appointment.
The fair is set to run from 10am until 5pm on Saturday and 10am to 4pm on Sunday.

Santa at Sandon Hall
For one weekend only (2 to 3 December 2017), families can immerse themselves in a festive wonderland at Sandon Hall. Children will get to opportunity to meet Santa in the library to tell him what they want for Christmas and receive a small gift, while their grown-ups will each enjoy a roast turkey bap.
Once you’ve met the man of the hour, there are other festive things organised such as:
