Sushi & You Menu with Prosecco
We were invited to try out the Sushi & You Menu with Prosecco which is exclusive to Debenhams. The includes a tasty selection of both modern and traditional Japanese-inspired dishes featuring authentic maki, crunchy onion topped rolls and spicy shichimi seasoning. The first menu includes 18 pieces with two glasses of prosecco for £15 while the second menu includes 30 pieces for three people and includes three glasses of Prosecco for £32.
We ordered their first menu as this was perfect for the two of us as we wanted to also try a few of their sushi boxes which were on display. It is easy to order the food, just pick which sushi boxes you want to try or order the Sushi & You menu and order at the counter, pay for it and sit at the table and enjoy the meal. The staff brought our platter and prosecco, while we helped ourselves with the soy sauce, ginger and wasabi. The sushi tasted delicious and the flavours were great.
We love raw fish and could tell by the taste that both the raw salmon and tuna were fresh, the sushi tasted fantastic with the prosecco, and it felt like a treat! It was the first time I tasted wakame seaweed but it won’t be the last! I was intrigued by the sweet and crunchy green bits as it was just moreish. The wakame seaweed is also sold separately as a salad with other favourites such as gyoza. My other favourite also had to be the tuna wrapped in lettuce sushi which was delicious and refreshing.

Dynamite Roll
This simple but stunning looking sushi had to be another of our favourite sushi boxes. Priced at £7.90, the ingredients included cucumber, avocado, nori, salmon, shrimp, surimi and tuna. This tasted amazingly fresh and I could have eaten another box easily. This is the perfect lunch snack if you are on the go, as you can take away the soy sauce, ginger and wasabi.

Cucumber, Avocado California Roll
This is another delish sushi box, the cucumber, avocado California Roll tasted yummy with the topping of black sesame seeds, chilli flakes, nori and Japanese mayo. The chili flakes are a little spicy but the Japanese mayonaise cools it down. Priced at £6.90 these were delicious and worth trying.

What did we think of it?
What is amazing experience of shopping and dining! Both Marilyn and myself are originally from Malaysia and we have eaten a lot of sushi in our time, we could clearly taste the freshness of the ingredients and the sushi rice tasted moist and was not dry at all. We were told that Sushi Daily kiosk starts with an empty fridge every morning, because good sushi should be made fresh and eaten fresh.
From the rice to the Maki rolls, their Sushi Artisans prepare and hand-make their delicious boxed sushi to ensure that customers get the highest possible quality. We were told that Sushi Daily also uses responsibly farmed Scottish salmon in their sushi and their fish is carefully selected by their trusted suppliers and delivered fresh everyday.
When we arrived at the store for lunch at about 12noon and we could see the Sushi Daily Artisans busy making fresh sushi and by 2pm, they were clearing up and starting to prepare the ingredients for the next day. It was wonderful to see the sushi was being made fresh. We also loved the variety offered ie there was sushi with raw fish, sushi for vegetarians, sushi for vegans, as well as ‘no raw fish’ options for those who prefer not to eat raw fish.
I loved the fact that we could stop shopping, sit down and enjoy fresh sushi with prosecco while resting our feet as we watched the staff prepare our meal via their open kitchen. We only wished that they had some hot Japanese Green Tea also available on the side to have with our sushi. Other than that, it was a fabulous experience and I would happily pick up a few boxes of sushi the next time I head to Manchester.
