We were invited to World of Wedgwood onboard the Wonderlust Express to follow Daisy’s journey and discover her story. We were captivated by a magical world of fairies, talking woodland animals and a Wonderlust train brought to life with carriages laid out with food and Wedgwood’s fine China teaware collection. The decorations are inspired by iconic Jasper imagery and archive designs, and includes the popular Christmas Snowglobe and Lithophanes, My First Christmas and Blue Tree ornaments. As we travelled through, we had the opportunity to meet the Chinese Dragon even stopping in London for a tea tasting and fairy tea party featuring the Wild Strawberry White collection. It was indeed a journey to remember. Do read on to find out more.

What’s the Wedgwood’s Christmas Story All About?
A Magical Wedgwood Christmas’ is set in 1911 at the Etruria Factory, featuring ceramics designer Daisy and her magical adventure, full of wondrous encounters inspired by her famed ‘Fairyland Lustre’ collection. It’s a magical story that incorporates the history, originality and creativity of Wedgwood – with a nod to classic English wit and eccentricity at an important point in England’s ceramic industry. It’s Christmas Eve, 1911, and Daisy Makeig-Jones leaves her studio at Etruria Works after a long day. She’s feeling excited for Christmas and the festive meal that awaits her. Whilst on her journey home she finds herself being led by a friendly white deer to a mysterious clearing in the woods. There, her night full of wondrous encounters, glittering fairies, afternoon tea with Christmas puddings and thrilling journeys to the Orient and London begins… Nurturing a lifelong passion for the enchanted world of all things elfish, Daisy can’t quite believe her childhood fantasies are coming true before her eyes and after this inspiring and energised journey, Daisy starts to believe in what she can achieve – “In fairyland, all things are possible.”
