Tea with Santa at Bridgemere Garden Centre **

We were recently invited to Bridgemere Garden Centre in Nantwich, Cheshire to have Tea with Santa. The kids were totally excited and we, adults were as well, as we had heard so much about the Garden Centre but had never been there before.  Our Tea was booked for 3pm but we made sure we arrived at the Centre well before time as we wanted to explore the place.

The Garden Centre was beautifully decorated for Christmas with lots of activities for the kids organised on the day.  The garden centre itself is really big, with an outdoor area and indoor area selling lots of plants, vegetables, fruits, gifts, meat and decorations.

There was also a snow globe (see photo below) where you can get your family photo taken for an extra £9. Lots of people were queuing up for that.

Our kids enjoyed looking the various decorations, we had to keep stopping along the way as something always kept catching their eyes.

We soon made our way to the Main Restaurant area as we were told to be there 15-minutes earlier.  Our tables were beautifully decorated with Christmas crackers, the adult’s afternoon tea stands, and our names so we know exactly where to sit. We soon made our way to our places, while the staff were getting ready the food, the kids had an activity / colouring sheet to keep them busy.

The adults had a lovely Afternoon Tea of sandwiches, cakes, scones and other sweet treats.

The kids had an option of cold sandwiches or a hot dinner, both our kids wanted the hot dinner which was beans, chicken and chips as well as chips, peas and sausages. The meals were pre-ordered online so the staff knew exactly how much to prepare.

After our food, the staff cleared the table and brought the gingerbread man for the kids to decorate. Our kids loved getting creative with their decorating skills and later devoured their cookie happily.

Although there were about 40 of us in total booked for the session, it did not feel rushed at all. We had plenty of time to do things, plenty to eat and lots of time to chat with Santa, see short video or the kids with Santa on the above slideshow.  After their chat, the kids had a chance to choose their gift from Santa’s sleigh. Which was great as they could pick something they really wanted and not just receive a random gift.

What we loved most about our experience:

  • We loved that the staff were really friendly and they kept coming to check on us and loved chatting with the kids which made the experience even more wonderful
  • Although we were there for an hour and a half, the kids were not bored at all, everyone sat at their place and were entertained.
  • The event was well organised with not much waiting and everything went smoothly

What we did not love about our experience:

  • Most of the traffic at the parking area at Bridgmere Garden Centre is one way, so if you miss getting a parking spot, you would need to exit the car park and re-enter again.
  • Being a weekend, the Garden Centre was really busy so we almost did not make it to Tea with Santa, as there were so many people. So if you are late, you need to hurry, luckily we were there early so we had plenty of time.

    Oh I love garden centres!
It’s so nice that they have so much on for Christmas.
I remember as a child, my mum used to take me to things like this and it’s such a cool idea.

What a fun family experience! Looks like a great garden center that grew upon a rose center initially. Full of fun events for the kids, so great! And that family snow globe picture idea was genius!

Omg this is a fan tea christmas event not only for kids, but for adult to partake as well. Making those gingerbread is exciting. They can take home their diy designed bread, right?
