Slow Cooker Rice Pudding Recipe
I usually make some Rice Pudding when I have too much milk which is likely to go off in the next couple of days. I normally make it in the oven but today decided to try out a slow cooker recipe.
It is really simple and fast to prepare and it cooks without having to check it. As usual, I did not have all in ingredients they put in the recipe so I decided to use a different rice than the normal pudding rice used in the UK. I only had Jasmine rice at home so I use it. It turned out really well and has a slightly different taste than the ordinary pudding rice. It was really tasty and it also cooked very well.
I like my rice pudding cold so I tend to use a little more milk than the recipe calls for as it is usually served as a hot rice pudding. I find when the pudding cools down, it thickens, so by adding a little more milk, the pudding will be the right consistency. I love serving my rice pudding in a contrasting bowl and on stop of a personalised cutting board to create a wow factor.
Desserts like this slow cooker rice pudding are a reminder of how rewarding cooking can be. For those who enjoy creating dishes that bring people together and are thinking about taking their skills further, exploring chef job opportunities can be a great way to turn a passion for cooking into a professional career.

Ingredients for Slow Cooker Rice Pudding Recipe
15g butter to grease the Slow Cooker Pot
750ml milk (if you want to let your rice pudding cool down and it not be too solid, use 900 ml milk)
25g sugar
100g pudding rice (I used Jasmine rice)
1/4 teaspoon Nutmeg (approx)

Method
Butter the pot
Mix all the other ingredients together and pour into the crock pot
Cook on low for approximately 4 hours (on high) or until the rice is soft
