Just thinking about the wind from the sea, the sand on your feet and the possibility that on a walk across the beach you might just find a pearl; the idea that pearls could be washed up on the shores of Scotland is magical.
This is what drew me to choosing a pearl from the personalised jewellery brand, Lily Blanche Jewellery collection. Hearing Gillian’s recount – or should I say reading, although how its told on her website I felt as though I could hear her telling me about her grandmother Lily Blanche, and how she grew up spending her summers on the Isle of Skye walking along the shores, seeing the pearls washed up for the first time!
The connection that Lily Blanche Jewellery has with the past with its special and unique pieces that you might only find in your grandmother’s or great aunt’s jewellery box, had me completely captivated. If you love jewellery that can tell a story or become someone else’s story to tell, then you need to take a look at our latest review. Lily Blanche Jewellery is quite something and keep reading to find out more about this brand.

What I thought of Lily Blanche Jewellery
When it arrived I just couldn’t wait to open it and inside the ethical and plain cardboard box it arrives in, is a beautifully wrapped and scented parcel, with a little note thanking you for your order. See our unboxing video for exactly how it went. Once you get past the scented tissue paper, you have a small gift bag and within it are your jewellery boxes. Each box is fastened with a small black ribbon matching the box, and then once opened you will find a small velvet bag with your pieces placed inside. The packaging is a great starting point and I love the time that has been taken by Lily Blanche to make this part so alluring.
My first item is a Pearl Necklace, it’s a simple yet elegant silver chain, I chose a 20inch chain, as I wanted it to sit lower than an existing necklace I have already and wear daily. The pearl is so beautiful, its irregular shape gives it such a raw feeling, as though it’s been found and lovingly created into a piece of jewellery. It’s heavy enough that it sits well on your neck without much movement but light enough that it is comfortable. I feel it’s a versatile piece, as it can be worn day to day but would also sit well with a much more glamorous outfit too.
The second piece is a Green Amethyst Ring which has been cut to perfectly reflect the light as it sits on your finger. The amethyst which is more traditionally purple looked so beautiful in green that I couldn’t resist it. Plus the fact that green is my favourite colour and I just love rings, but can never find any that I find interesting enough to buy. However, this ring by Lily Blanche is just the sort that I love, it has a thick rounded band and the amethyst – which is around a 1cm square. The size of the stone is perfect, as it’s not too small that you can’t see it, so makes a great statement ring, however, it’s not too big that you feel as though your hand might be weighed down.
Each piece would make great gifts individually or could be bought together. You could easily mix and match amongst the collections like I did, to find your most suitable adornments. Lily Blanche also creates personalised jewellery amongst these items, they have a huge range of lockets, which can make the unbelievable memorable gifts filled with photographs of loved ones. However, if lockets aren’t your thing, you can also have certain pieces of jewellery engraved with a message or a name, adding that extra personal touch.

About Lily Blanche
Lily Blanche’s origins are deep-rooted in the history of owner Gillian, whose grandmother was named Lily Blanche Sheridan and inspired her launch into the jewellery industry.
As a child, Gillian used to spend her summers with her grandmother walking the shores of Skye (in Scotland) and seeing for the first time pearls get washed up. This fascinated Gillian and made her curious about how such beautiful items could appear so freely from the sea.
Her grandmother also had some memorable jewellery that equally marked Gillian and inspired her to create some of the beautiful pieces within her collection today.
The majority of their jewellery is made in a small studio in Stirling, Scotland and then a few of the specialist works are made by other artisans abroad and in the UK, all of which have a close connection to the brand, and are known personally by the team at Lily Blanche Jewellery.
Lily Blanche, use sterling silver, 18-carat gold and white gold within their pieces and a selection of other precious metals, real gemstones and of course pearls. All of which create the beautiful and memorable collections held in their store.

I’ve never seen a green amethyst before, either. My birthstone is amethyst and I’ve only ever seen the purple. Both of these pieces are gorgeous. I like the simplicity but elegance of them.
I agree, it is simple yet elegant

This is such a beautiful set. I have had my eye on something similar for my mom, but I love this one. I need to get this for her.
Hope you do get this for mum, it is a wonderful set
I love the green amethyst. It is quite unusual as you don’t tend to see that in jewellery often. The pearl necklace is perfect for one of my friends who loves pearls.
No it is so unique indeed
That ring is really pretty, I love the color of it! The necklace is neat too with the funky shape of the pearl.

Amethyst crystal jewellery is used as a natural tranquilliser. Amethyst relieves stress and strain on the body and is said to soothe irritability. Amethyst crystal can also be used to balance mood swings, it can dispel anger, rage, and fear and is a great crystal to use for anxiety relief.
Thank you for sharing that Xander
