Review: Bonomelli Herbal Teas by Ciao Gusto**

#AD I love my herbal teas as I find that herbal teas relaxes me when I am having a stressful day as they have so many different health properties and aid with immune-boosting health elements.

I also prefer herbal teas to the normal English Tea so am always super happy to be asked to review them. In this post, I will be featuring three variety of herbal teas which is the Bonomelli Goji & Carcade Herbal Infusion Tea, Bonomelli Thyme & Mint Herbal Infusion and finally, the Bonomelli Nettle & Dandelion Herbal Infusion promoted by Ciao Gusto.

Bonomelli Goji & Carcade Herbal Infusion Tea

The Goji & Carcade Herbal Infusion Tea is my favourite herbal tea out of all three teas, this tea is made with 100% natural infusion containing both the goji berry and carcade with no other artificial ingredients added.  The Carcade is rich in anthocyanins which help to combat the free radicals in the body while the Goji berry helps to protect against oxidative stress.

This beautiful crimson coloured tea not only looked beautiful but it had a very pleasant taste to it with a berry finish. Even my children took sips of this tea and enjoyed the flavour. I find that I don’t eat goji berry enough and drinking this tea helps me relax when I am having a hectic day and need to take a break. Will recommend having a cup of this before you do your conscious breathing, if you are into meditation and yoga.

Bonomelli Nettle & Dandelion Herbal Infusion

The Nettle & Dandelion herbal tea was my second favourite, this tea has a mixture of nettle, birch and orthosiphon which helps reduce the excess fluids retained in body tissues.  It had a lovely scent of lemon verbena, apple and chamomile flowers. The mix of functional plants presented in this herbal tea, combined with a healthy way of life and a varied and balanced diet, provides a sip of well-being that helps diuresis and combat water retention.

I also loved the fact that the tea had nettles which also helps the elimination of excess fluid retained within the body’s tissues.   Did you know that nettles, in folk medicine was used as an astringent (in gargles and mouthwashes) and as a scalp tonic?  While Dandelion helps aids digestion and facilitates detoxification of the liver. Again an easy to drink tea with earthy flavours to it.

Bonomelli Thyme & Mint Herbal Infusion

This was my least favourite herbal tea (as I don’t really like the peppermint flavour) but it is equally healthy and made with 100% natural infusion exclusively blended with Thyme and Peppermint, with no other additive ingredients. In popular tradition, the infusion of the leaves of Thyme (a plant rich in essential oils with noted balsamic properties) and Peppermint (a plant with an intense scent) is distinguished for its fresh taste and pleasant sensations to the upper respiratory tract.

Mint helps with the elimination of abdominal cramps and aids digestion whilst thyme helps with preventing bacterial infections and facilitates the elimination of bronchial spasms and inflammation of the airways.  Although the flavours of this herbal tea is not as smooth, I am still keeping this box close at hand to help me with my colds before the winter months arrive to help me boost my immune system.

How to prepare the tea

Put the teabag in a cup and add boiling water without pouring it directly over the bag. Leave to infuse for 4-5 minutes. You can savour it as it is or sweeten it, preferably with honey. I drank all these teas it without honey and it was perfect for me.

What did I think of the Bonomelli Teas?

I love drinking herbal teas and did like the tastes of all the three teas. My favourite has to be Bonomelli Goji & Carcade Herbal which was full of flavour with just right intensity and a berry-like finish to it. This is followed by Bonomelli Nettle & Dandelion Herbal Infusion which has a light and clean taste to the tea which was very refreshing. The last tea was my least favourite due to its slight strong aftertaste but nevertheless it is has a lot of health benefits and is recommended being drunk if you have a cold or to boost your immune system.

What I loved most about the teas is that it is made from 100% natural blends that contain all the taste and aroma of the specific herbs or fruits. The Bonomelli teas do not contain other added ingredients.  I also love that these teas are easy to drink and they contain so much of health benefits to help my well being and help me with issues such as water retention, digestion problems or colds. Drinking tea also helps me calm myself after a busy day while I relax and unwind.
