As I type this, I am smelling like I just walked out of an excotic spa in India or Bali, the scent immediately fills the rooms and gives me a more calming feeling already as the radio is being played in the background. I have heard of the medicinal properties of Ayuverdic Treatment but have never been exposed to beauty products promoting it so we are totally pleased when we were contacted by Sunita Passi, health coach and founder of Tri-Dosha to review some of her Tri-Dosha Ayuverdic and Holistic Beauty Products.
Before you purchase these products…. you have to ask yourself….what body type are you. To help you in this quest, you are asked to do a short questionnaire (see image below) to find out if you are either a vatta, pitta or kapha.
Here are the three products which we were sent and what I thought about it
Miracle Balm (for dry, cracked skin, cuticles, lips). Out of the three products which was sent to us, this is my most favourite. Made from natural ingredients such as olive oil, almond oil, beewax, cocoa butter, bay leave, black pepper, shea butter, ginger, cinnamon, sandalwood, chamomile, sweet orange, majoram and eucalyptus amongst others. It smells amazing and feels moisturising almost immediately after application. I will be carrying this around with me, especially during this cold and winter months to prevent dry and chapped lips. A 30ml bottle of the miracle balm costs £8.95
I love a good massage and due to time and cost, I can’t always head to the massage parlour as often as I would like. Having a bottle of this Relax Body and Massage Oil (Vata) has actually helped me do the oil massages at home, after a nice long bath. I find that massaging the legs and hands has helped with blood circulation and keeps my body warm and skin hydrated. Some of the ingredients include chamomile, frankincense, ajwain, coconut oil, sesame oil, jasmine, grapeseed oil, cinnamon leave amongst others. There are three oil types, vata oil (which is featured here) is relaxing, the pitta oil is soothing while the kapha oil is energising. This oil again smells amazing and a 100ml bottle costs £23. Here is a link to an article on self-massage.
Replenishing hand/body lotion is made using Neem herbal formulations, lavender, jojoba, rose, geranium, chamomile and other essential oils such as macadamia seed oil, sunflower seed oil, rose hip seed oil, coconut oil, flower oil with 89% of it being naturally derived ingredients. The scent again is so exotic and immediately transports you to a foreign destination, the cream is not oily at all, it needs some rubbing to the skin and there might be a bit of white residue left, but this quickly dissapears in time. A 250ml bottle costs £12.60
What’s great about using Tri-Dosha beauty and ayuverdic products?
- Its said to increase mental and physical wellbeing by using the product for a long period of time
- Its natural
- No animal testing
- No articificial fragrance
- No petrochemical / SLS / SLES or Parabens
- Their packages are recyclable, mainly using glass jars, PET bottles and biodegradable bags and vegetable based inks
- Tri-Dosha believes in giving back to society and donates a percentage of its profits to the Tri-Dosha fund which helps support projects that provides essential medical services in India
Tri-Dosha is from Sanskrit (ancient language of India) and is made up of two words: Tri to mean three and Dosha to mean body type, of which there are three – vata, pitta, kapha. It therefore logically means ‘balance’ and epitomises our whole philosophy.
About Tri-dosha
The concept of Tri-Dosha came to Sunita Passi, Ayurvedic therapist, one wonderful day in India, 2002, whilst she was training and travelling in the South of the sub-continent. Originally from the UK, Sunita had spent the last few years working as a business writer for an international news agency, interviewing high level executives across the world. A holistic health lover through and through, she had experienced yoga of all forms in more than ten different countries as well being massaged in every technique available to her. But there was a deeper motivation. Aware that many of her peers suffered from stress, anxiety, tension and skin allergies, she took it upon herself to discover how she could conserve her own wellbeing as well as help others through Ayurveda.
Sunita first experienced the healing wisdom of Ayurveda at the age of seven upon visiting her grandfather’s clinic in India. After being re-inspired many years later, she decided to re-train in the therapeutic aspects as well going on a personal spiritual journey through the clinics, wellbeing centres and ashrams in the country of her ancestral roots. Thereafter, as a qualified Ayurvedic therapist and lifestyle consultant, she started to formulate her own ethos of health and wellbeing, and over time her focus on individuality as well as the understanding of inner and outer beauty started to really take form. She relocated back to the UK, where she first completed her ITEC in complementary therapy. Since then she has gone on to train with experts in various alternative health modalities and skincare philosophies.
Tri-Dosha evolved from humble beginnings. It was 2005 when the first Tri-Dosha training programme was delivered, and held in a dilapidated venue in north London. But Sunita’s expert teaching quickly gained word-of-mouth appeal and soon wellbeing lovers and five-star spas started knocking on Sunita’s door. Sunita wanted the therapists she taught to deliver the very best therapeutic experience and also pass on holistic care with education. The training programme was therefore developed for students to also be able to facilitate in this way. Whilst the therapists in Sunita’s care were enjoying the benefits of the treatments and their clients were getting healthier, she wanted to improve the system to allow even more people to benefit. The result was the development of the body oils range [now known as the Tri-Dosha Classic Collection] into luxury formulas that consumers could use at home, enabling Tri-Dosha to spread its influence. She also decided that it was important to make people aware of what was in their products, passing the power onto them to make informed decisions and choose natural formulas.

I feel like I’m a total 50/50 mix between pitta and vata! But they look lovely nonetheless!

At the moment we think this for the UK market only. But keep a close eye out and they may opt for expansion.
I love the sound of the fragrance! And miracle balm sounds amazing. Really interesting to read about the different skin types too.
So glad you enjoyed the post
I really like that before you buy you are sent the questionnaire, so that the products can fit your body type perfectly. I would love to try the miracle balm, I always get dry lips due too much traveling and changing of temperatures.
Exactly, so the products are catered to you and your requirements and not just a standard type which you buy off the shelf. You can get the lip balm online Joanna.
I am always on the lookout for new products to try, I love first one and would be most inclined to get that one. My lips are forever chapped. Amazingly priced too, thought they would be way more! x
We think its such value for money as you can also use it on other parts of your body that is experiencing very dry skin.
I’ve never heard of this. It was so interesting
What an interesting range of products, I like the way they have set out the quiz to find which range is perfect for you. Personally I would love to try the miracle balm I think I need that!
The questionnaire is a fab idea and the miracle balm is great especially in the cold wintery months.
I love this!! Especially finding out which body type I am! The Miracle Balm sounds amazing though! Going to check this brand out.
We hope you do Stephanie
I think I’m Pitta!
I definitely want to try these products, the way you describe it sounds lovely! I can smell it already!
Ohh that is so amazing, we hope you do!

Totally, and the size is just perfect for travel as well.
I love the list of ingredients in the Miracle Balm. This is a brand I definitely need to try out with a very interesting concept behind it.

I would love to try this range, if only for the lovely scents! The miracle balm sounds amazing!

Yes they are beautiful Melanie!
So apparently I’m split between vata and pitta – I’ll definitely have to give this range a go! I love the sound of the miracle balm aswell xo
Most people have a mixed skin type too.
I found this post really interesting. I like the holistic approach and I’m especially intrigued by the different body types
Yes its nice that they are able to specifically cater to each body / skin type
The fragrance of these products sound amazing and I am all about the smell of products like this….also LOVE anything with lavender in it!
You will love this!
Just did the test to find out I’m Vata. I’ve always been curious about ayuverdic and holistic healing but hadn’t really looked into products related to it. That balm sounds perfect for my super dry winter skin… And no animal testing is always a plus!
Ohhh! This sounds absolutely amazing! It’s not animal tested & natural. Perfect!
Yes we agree too
I think I’m Kapha – not sure I like the description ‘stocky’ though! I’ve read a bit about Ayurveda and it makes a lot of sense.
Yes it does, all natural products and no chemicals at all
My mummy is Vata unfortunately and her sleep is appalling along with her circulation – what a fascinating post!
Hope your mum is able to stabalise her body and get good sleep soon
I didn’t know about all these different body types! I am “pitta”. Love the sound of the Miracle Balm – it’s great that it has so many uses in just one container!
Hi Laura, glad you know your body type now.
Love your review! This thing with types is quite interesting, I’m a mix of all three. Also really want to try Miracle balm
Thanks Frertsu
I love how tailored these are. They sound fab, I would especially love that massage oil… but would prefer someone else to be doing the massaging, haha!
Totally agree with you Ashton, its always nice when someone else is doing the massaging for you.
I vary between each of them, depending on my mood and time of the month I think. I have heard Ayuverdic treatments before, but don’t think I’ve ever tried anything that’s Ayuverdic. I’d be willing to give them a trial though! x
Hope you do get your hands on this Becca
