Subscribing to a beauty box is the in thing at the moment and there are just so many in the market. So when we were contacted by The Pip Box to review their March edit consisting of Vegan as well as Cruelty-Free beauty products, we thought …hey this is just going to be like any other subscription box where we may find one item that we like and the rest might just be average items. But we were taken by surprised, as not only were are all the products featured in the box cruelty-free, but they are exactly as described. Do read on to see more images of the boxes and read what we thought about each of the featured product.
Dr Botanicals Tropical Invigorating Cream
We are going to start the review with London based vegan skincare, Dr Botanicals Tropical Invigorating Cream which was included in The Pip Dig’s March Box. The cream which is recommended for normal and oily skin, retails at £29 and was only 50ml. The cream is made from elderflower, chamomile flower extract as well as tiare flower extract hence it smells AMAZING! Upon applying the cream onto the skin, its immediately absorbed by the skin and does not feel greasy at all. The oil and plant extract made my skin feel refreshed and hydrated which is very rare as I have very dry skin. I love the size and that its easy to pack with me in my handbag.
Rawganic Refreshiong Aloe and Green Tea Facial Wipes
I love my facial wipes as its a quick and easy way to remove unwanted grime, dirt as well as make-up after a late night out. Hence I was super pleased to find Rawganic’s organic cotton wipe included in the box. This Aloe and Green Tea facial wipe retails which cleans, tones, moisturises and refreshes, retails at £2.99 and is suitable for sensitive skin. Upon using the wipe, I immediately felt refreshed and my skin felt smooth and soft, my skin was also left with a nice tingling feeling. The wipe removed my light make-up which was my lipstick as well as my base foundation, so that automatically gets a plus one from me.
Saturated Colour Moisturising Lipstick. Naked Pink
I loved the packaging of the Naked Pink lipstick, but looking at colour I was a little worried it might not suit me as I have a darker skin tone, hence tend to use a darker shade of pink. Upon trying out the lipstick, it look fabulous on me, my lips felt fuller and moisturised. The tag line for Saturated Colour is shades for everyone as they tend to create their lipstick to complement all skin tones and I love that this lipstick was included in the Pip Box as it was so perfect for me. The Naked Pink lipstick had as a matte finish to it which means I am happy to use it as an everyday lipstick or when I do school pick-ups and the lipstick did not have a strange taste / smell like some lipsticks do. This retails for £7 is cruelty-free and vegan as well.
Okko Skincare. Try me Foot Balm. Organic Calendula & Eucalyptus
Lets talk about the Okko Try me Foot Balm…I have seen, used and tested lots of lip balms but never a foot balm…so I was totally curious about this product. Reading more about OKKO, I understood that they only develope 100% natural and environmental friendly products which already caught out attention. The organic foot balm which was included in the box is not the full sized version but only the try me version which gives you about 3 to 4 times application. Awesomely tiny and only containing 50g worth of foot balm, this product retails for £3. The balm comes in a solid stick form and is made from organic calendula & eucalptus which has a lovely sweet scent to it. Upon application, my feet immediately shined and the dryness was gone. This is going to be my go to item to carry in my handbag when I need a quick fix for dry feet especially since summer is around the corner and I will be wearing more slippers and open toed shoes. It is so compact and pocket-sized hence easy enough to carry around when heading out and about.
Saturated Colour. Make Me matte
This is the second product from Saturated Colour included into the Pip Box, I loved the first so was extremely curious about this product which is the Make Me Matte lipstick mattifier which will turn and transform satin or semi gloss lipstick into a matte finish. This is such a great idea especially when you want to have two different looks but using your existing satin/shiny/glossy/cream lipsticks. I felt it was most and kep my lipstick moistured and it worked perfectly as it stated. This only retails for £8 so its totally worth having in your bag for a change of look.
Like I said, i truly enjoyed trying out each of the different products sent and sincerely love every one of them. They are all currenly in my handbag and I religiously carry them around with me everywhere I go. Often skeptical about subcription boxes (as I hate surprises), this would be one which I would gladly subscribe to for the sheer pleasure of discovering what will be in the Pip Box monthly. The fact that all their products are vegan as well as cruelty-free and there is a 50p donation tot he Animal Free Research UK also makes me feel a lot more happy and guilt free of my purchase. I can’t recommend The Pip Box enough!
What’s a Pip Box?
The Pip Box is a subscripton box which sent to the subscriber on a monthly basis. The box tends to contain at least 5 items, one of which is always a full sized make-up item and minature or try me items but never sachet samples. The Pip Box tries to ensure that the items they send are always on trend and suitable for the season – think cooling mists and coral nail polishes in the summer, with matte lipsticks and hydrating balms in the winter. They also promise never to send the same item twice because every edit is created bespoke each month. So its like a surprise gift box which you get every month and the excitment of opening it to find out what is inside it.
How much does The Pip Box Subscription cost?
The box costs £14.99 per month or you can opt for a 3 month bundle which works out at £13.50 per box. There is a slight additional postage cot of £3.35 for UK addresses. This is such a good deal as the price of all the items in this month’s box cost £65.
