We have been getting so much support from PR agents and various brands and are being sent so many gift items for features on our lifestyle blog. A huge thank you to everyone…due to overwhelming support, we have decided to start off a monthly Gift Guide Feature where we will be sharing different items suitable for the whole family to feature from different companies and brands and share what its about and what we thought of it. This month we are sharing with you about Lace Wingz, Waning Moon Bath Salts, The Spice Pioneer’s Culinary Adventure Spice Box, Baby Mocc Ons Shoes, Angela Langford’s Bloom & Glow and Project MC2 Ultimate Lab Kit. Hope you enjoy reading our first gift guide for our May post and do share with us what you think about these items.
Stretch Lace Wingz 3/4 Sleeve White
Let’s start the first gift guide with a share about the stretch lace wingz. I have been wearing shrugs for around 20 years so when the opportunity came up to be able to try wingz – which are basically the sleeves to your sleeveless top. They fit underneath your vest top or sleeveless top a bit like a crop top but they do not cover your bust area. As they say on their site it could be a little confusing but they have a how to guide of how to put them on. The thing with shrugs is that they don’t come in a choice of fabrics or sleeve styles, whereas the Wingz come with wide sleeves or lace sleeves as well as several colours. For the review we choose to the lace sleeves feeling that this would be the most versatile, as it would go with chiffon and standard T.shirt fabric vest tops. I tried the Wingz on and the size was perfect, they were there quarter length as were three quarters length which due to the fact I am pretty short meant that they were a good length and not too long as most things are. My only thing was that the back section which is a different fabric to the lace was sometimes visible from underneath my top. But for overall wearability I really liked them and I would be tempted to try some in other fabrics/sleeve widths and colours. These are easy to order as a present or for yourself, but do ensure its the right size for your body shape.

The Spice Pioneer’s Culinary Adventure
If you are thinking of travelling to exotic places and trying exotic tasting food but without leaving the comfort of your home, then this just might be the right gift set for you. In our box from The Spice Pioneer, we received a recipe booklet, all the spices (chilli powder, masala powder, seeds, and other spices) needed for cooking the dish as well as a travel postcard sharing a little story about the place where the dish originates from… in this case Dal Lake, Srinagar in Kashmir. A shopping card is also provided which explains clearly what you need to purchase to create the meal (for 4 people) which consists of Kashmiri Lamb, Glazed Flatbread and Ginger spiced aubergine and chickpeas. The box is beautifully presented and would make a fabulous gift for anyone who is a foodie or curious to try cooking new dishes. We do like the look of this box and being foodie ourselves, we are hoping to do a separate review of this spice box, so stay tuned to read what we think about this. The subscription gift box is a great idea and is priced at £27 for 3 months, £52.50 for 6 months and £99 for a year and can be purchased here.
Baby Mocc Ons Shoes
If you are looking for a unique gift for a newborn baby or toddler but don’t want to be getting the usual baby wraps or clothes then why not try getting the little one a pair (or two) of Mocc Ons. These are cute moccasin style slipper socks that keep babies / toddlers warm and comfy. We loved that the soles of the Mocc Ons are made from high quality leather and these are machine washable as well, the best part about it is their designs, ….there are 13 funky designs to choose from for both boys, girls or gender neutral babies. These pair of socks are priced at £10.99 and can be purchased here. The design you see above is Floral Ditsy.
Angela Langford’s Bloom & Glow
Project MC2 Ultimate Lab Kit
As our kids get bigger, we find ourselves running out of ideas on what to get them for their birthdays that is not only fun but educational as well. So when we were sent the Project Mc2 Ultimate Lab Kit (which is suitable for kids aged 6+ and above) we were genuinely happy to play about with it. There are a total of 15 experiments which we are able to do which includes making a cloud in a jar, creating liquid glass, make raisins dance as well as make a PH indicator. There are lots of different parts to it, almost 30 pieces in total including 4x working microscope. The kids loved it and have been playing with the different items in the bag and we are still doing the experiments which is keeping them busy at the moment. This is such a fun gift and educational as well especially if they are a fan of the girls from Project MC2…but be warned it is expensive. The kit is priced at £54.99 and can be purchased on Amazon here.
