Family Adventure Review: Waterworld in Stoke-on-Trent*

by Yeah Lifestyle

Entrance of Waterworld

For all you thrill-seeking water-loving families out there, you must read our next post covering Waterworld, the UK’s number waterpark.

It is a well-established waterpark here in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire and almost a right of passage for children to go off there for a day during school holidays.

During the holidays you can sometimes find it hard to find activities that feel extra special, and perhaps if you aren’t going away, but still want to have some holiday-style fun, finding the perfect activity is tricky.

Well look no further, Waterworld can make for a fun-packed day out that will have you feeling as though you’ve had a mini break!

Family Adventure Review: Waterworld Stoke-on-Trent

What we thought of the Waterworld

We were invited to a special two-hour VIP media event, where we had access to all the slides and activities available at the park. Waterworld has been on our family to-do list for some time, but we somehow still haven’t made it there. So when we were asked if we could attend we jumped at the chance.

We weren’t disappointed! We had the most amazing time. Of course, we had the additional advantage of no queues, however, considering that most general tickets allow for three hours in the park, we feel that this additional hour would account for any queuing.

Our family love the thrill slides and there are certainly plenty of them. In particular, the Cyclone, which felt as though you were a sweet in a giant sweet jar travelling down a magical colourful path – this one for me was the craziest slide and involved a rubber ring – I always think slides with rubber rings are such fun. This is one of their newest slides and goes outside and can be seen from major roads around Stoke!

The second slide we loved was the Space Bowl. It’s one of the oldest rides (I know this as I went on it as a child!) but it certainly is one of the best. You first travel down a fast slide into a bowl that throws you from side to side before landing you in the water! It’s unpredictable at which point you will enter the water – which I think is what makes it so fun!

We managed to get on every single slide and do all the activities, which made for a great evening. But the final favourite slide we need to mention is the Thunderbolt – this is for people over 140cm, and is a straight drop. Landing so fast that the water shoots into your face. My daughter went on this several times and loved it, I wasn’t so brave!

Other fun parts that we also really loved were the rapids and the wave pool – which comes on every 20 minutes or so – and notifies everyone with a loud sound so you can head on over and not miss the waves – they were such fun, and we often left a slide to go to it.

If you think this is somewhere your family would love to visit keep reading about what you need to do, to get tickets and find out where it’s located.

About Waterworld

Waterworld was acquired by Stoke-on-Trent business owner Mo Chaudry in 1999, who managed to turn around the failing business. He started working after graduating as an insurance salesman, and then set up as an independent financial advisor and soon his success soared.

Mo has been married to his wife Ann since 1987, they have three children together and live in the Staffordshire countryside. The management of the Waterpark is now left to the next generation which Chaudry is happy about.

Waterworld looks like such a fun place to take the family. We love indoor water parks like this because you don’t have to worry about sunburn or bad weather. I’d love to go there with the family.
