Finally, bracelets are also enjoyed globally, by men and women alike, for decoration, and the love of all things shiny!

In our latest review, we have been sent a bracelet by Boutique of Diamonds, which is unique in its style. The diamond is set in white gold and is carefully looped onto a fine red string.

What I thought of the Red String Bracelet

The diamond is a clean-cut diamond sized at 0.02 carat, and surrounded by white gold. The red string is fine and delicate and has an ethnic quality about it. Symbolically a crimson thread on the wrist is often worn in Judaism, to ward off misfortune. The wearing of this became synonymous to Madonna back in the early naughties, when she began to follow Kabbalah, and was seen wearing numerous crimson threads.

Equally Red is also symbolic in Chinese culture as it represents fortune and red in Buddhism is related to life force and preservation. I love learning about the symbolism of colour as it makes the piece of jewellery and I love to think about it when I am wearing it and hope that it does help with fortune or life force etc.

But I chose red as I love the colour, but you can also get black, lilac and blue stringed diamond bracelets, which means that you will more than likely find a colour to suit you. I also liked the blue but felt that the red was a more versatile colour as it will cross over well from summer to winter. I think the colour also works well with different gold finishes, so the black works with the plain white gold and in my opinion the lilac works well with the yellow gold finish, but of course, this aspect is down to personal preference.

The mini diamond set in white gold has a 585 EX hallmark which indicates its 14-carat gold. So you have the small diamond encased in a quality bit of gold. The gold is smooth and well finished and has a really clear diamond within it. Although it is tiny it still sparkles well and if kept clean will do so for a lifetime. The bracelet part is a synthetic thread that has a sturdy feel to it and doesn’t feel as though it would break easily. It’s also fully adjustable so can be made to fit any sized wrist. I liked this as I have very small wrists and I often find that bracelets are so loose they feel as though they would slide off, so being able to make this tight on my arm made it feel so much more secure.

My only critique of this item is how it’s packaged. It came in a very simple black velvet pouch. I would have hoped for a little bit more branding or possibly a box, but it’s still a beautiful item, but I would advise if giving this as a gift to perhaps buy a small gift box to add an extra bit of wow. To me, this would be the perfect gift for a graduation, or as a first-time diamond. It is small but won’t lose its charm, and if you so decided you could easily have it put onto a white gold chain at a later date.
