Review: Jute Selfie Bag from The Cotton Bag Co*

If you’re hitting the British beaches or countryside this summer which might make a change from your usual trips abroad, you still will need a bag to carry around your… I would normally say swimsuit and sunnies, but I think more appropriately it might be your brolly! So, you have your brolly packed inside your big summer bag, along with your phone. Another thing to remember when you’re on your holidays is that good old selfie! When you’re trying get that memorable picture where you’re all trying to squeeze into shot or whether you’re trying to capture that perfect image in front of that famous landmark – well with the bag we’re about to review all this is covered.

What I thought of the Jute Selfie Bag

This is a great bag to go away with. It has a good zip on the top and plenty of pockets. But the other great thing about it is the gadgets it also contains. Inside the bag you have a pretty pocket with a pop-up reflector inside, a tripod selfie stick and a clip-on ring light. All these items are small and light and fit perfectly in the pockets within the bag.

The ring flash is really easy to charge and just clips onto your phone. The reflector packs away really well too, as does the tripod. It is a really fun little selection and the bag is such a good size. The design is quirky but perfect for summer and stylish, so you can easily add it to your denim shorts and strappy top outfit and look sassy and selfie-ready!

I particularly liked that you can zip the bag up. Quite often jute bags are open at the top and therefore more of a shopper than a proper bag. I also liked all the handy pockets inside, which are of course designed for your selfie gadgets, but if you wanted to leave all that at home, you could easily use the pockets for your makeup or snacks for your kids (as mine always seem to want something to eat when we are out and about).

What I like about the gadgets is how easy they are to use. As I mentioned before the ring light is simple to charge and really straightforward to use. You just clip it to the phone and turn it on, you can then use the dimmer switch to increase/decrease the light intensity. The reflector just pops up and voila it is ready to use, and as for the tripod, this again is really straightforward. It has a telescopic part that just pulls up and then the bottom end separates into a tripod so it can stand up – it stands up when it is retracted and fully extended which surprised me as I thought it would just fall over.

I like the fact that you can get rid of your dark circles when using some of these great gadgets and have fun trying to capture moments that would otherwise be pretty impossible when you are trying to take photos of yourself!
