We at Yeah Lifestyle are always passionate about sharing about local business with our readers as we love supporting our local community and showcasing what they do. Today we are delighted to share with our spa experience a The Retreat which is located in the beautiful historical town of Leek in Staffordshire.
We were invited to experience their Simply Beautiful Relax package for two which allowed us access to their Conservatory and Easytone Suite. Later we were treated to their Retreat Classic Facial, a Foot and Leg Exfoliation and Massage as well as a Hand and Arm Massage. This was followed by a spread of scrumptious Afternoon Tea selection which we enjoyed at their outdoor dining area.
If you are local to Staffordshire and need a little bit of pampering especially after a stressful year then read on to see what The Retreat is all about and what we thought about our experience at the Health Spa and here are other luxurious ways in which you can treat yourself as well.

Set in a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere, The Retreat offers a range of beauty treatments including nails, brows, lashes, waxing and tinting to pampering massages, wraps and facials. With access to high tech equipment, they also provide a wide range of skin rejuvenating treatments including Cryotherapy, IPL and Mesotherapy. They also provide hairdressers services as well as a Bistro Cafe in the venue where you can enjoy a selection of delicious homemade meals all made in-house.
The Retreat also owns a beautiful holiday home accommodation adjacent to main building . The Cottage has two en-suite bedrooms, one double and one single. The double bedroom boasts a spa bath and the single has a shower. The kitchen is decorated with oak units and granite work surfaces and has an oven, a microwave and a fridge. The living room has a 40-inch flat-screen Smart TV with Netflix.
Just a 7-minutes walk away from Leek town, you can also order a breakfast basket if you stay there and can also enjoy a hot breakfast or lunch/afternoon tea and the Retreat Bistro.

Living quite Local to Leek, both Lex and I have passed The Retreat many times but have never been inside. The venue looks small on the outside but is large in the inside. The whole spa has a very welcoming feel to it as soon as you walk in and we were immediately made to feel very special.
We were given a form to fill in our details before we were guided to the changing room to get dressed into our robes. Once we got dressed and placed our belonging in the provided locker, we headed to the Easy Tone Suite where we had the chance to try out a range of powered exercise equipment with a chair-based design to target and work out specific areas and muscle groups in the body, whilst at the same time stimulating the muscles and improving circulation.
Next, Bernie took us to the Sensory Room which was my favourite room as we could lie on the bean bag style bed in the darkroom admiring the light display which was so calming. Soon we were invited to sit down at the Conservatory Room for a quick drink before being whisked for our treatment by our respective beauty therapists.

What Did We think about the treatment?
With us just coming out of the third lockdown, either one of us has had the chance to properly enjoy some alone time of relaxation away from our children and family. As busy mums who work from home, having the luxury of spending a few hours in a relaxing environment was what we both needed.
The whole experience was very personal from start to finish. I loved how we were taken care of and guided and informed of each procedure. Both our beauty therapist Jo and Nikki were very experienced and used the right type of products for our specific type of skin.
We started our facial treatment with cleansing then exfoliation to remove the dead skin cells followed by the hot towel treatment, mask and the foot scrub. My therapist, Jo recommended the hydrating products from Pevonia for myself whilst Lex’s therapist Nicki recommended products that were suitable for her sensitive skin. Whilst the facial continued, we next were given the arm massage which was followed by the foot and leg massage. We were so relaxed that we did not realise that our facial soon came to an end. The whole session took almost two hours which gave us ample time. We did not feel rushed and we also felt safe as a lot of Covid safety procedures were put into place such as mask-wearing, using hand sanitisers. We enjoyed our Afternoon Tea in the open-air dining area and it was perfect as the weather was beautiful on the day.
We would definitely be heading back to The Retreat again for another treatment and would certainly recommend the spa facility to our readers.

The Retreat is a Pevonia salon, hence all of their beauty products are cruelty-free and packed with pure, eco-friendly, plant-based ingredients, free from all nasties which was fantastic to hear.
We next got changed to our clothes and headed to the Outdoor Dining Area where we enjoyed a wonderfully homemade afternoon tea for two which was all made and prepared from scratch in-house.
The whole experience was very rejuvenating and this half day experience was done within 4 hours, hence perfect for mums such as us as we could drop kids off at school, experience the rejuvenation then head to school to pick the kids up. The package which was for two is very special as it could be enjoyed by best friends, family or those within the same bubble.

How much did the package cost?
The Simply Beautiful Relax package cost £180.00 for two or £102.00 for one. The package includes A choice of Lazy Breakfast OR Two course Lunch OR Afternoon Tea all served with a complimentary glass of bubbly together with the following treatments: Retreat Classic Facial| Foot and Leg Exfoliation and Massage | Hand and Arm Massage. You will also have access to the Conservatory and a complimentary Hot Drink. Do note that you could bring your own robe and slippers or pay a small fee to use the ones provided by The Retreat.
