The organisers of the Just So Festival have announced their biggest ever programme to celebrate the 10th year of the spectacular family event held in Cheshire.
This year’s festival takes place from 16-18 August at the beautiful Rode Hall Estate, Scholar Green, and promises ‘imaginative outdoor family adventure like no other’.
The intimate annual event enables families to step into a wonderland of literature, arts, theatre, dance, music, comedy and creative pursuits. Audiences (from bumps to great-grandparents) can enjoy magical midnight feasts, hidden retreats, food, drink and camping.
Produced by Wild Rumpus, Just So 2019 will feature regional, national and international artists and performers. What’s more, festival-goers will be able to explore several exciting new areas including the stunning ‘Fire Garden’ and the mysterious ‘Garden of Delight’.
When is the Just So Festival?
The event takes place from Friday 16 August to Sunday 18 August, 2019.
How much does it cost?
- Early Bird, Tier One and Tier Two tickets have sold out, but a limited number of Tier Three tickets are still available (at the time of writing)
- Tier Three tickets (with booking fees included) are: £154.42 for a weekend adult with camping; £53.25 for a weekend child with camping; £106.50 for a weekend adult without camping; or £42.60 for a weekend child without camping
- Day tickets (including booking fees) start at £31.95 for adults and £15.97 for children
- Under 3s go free
- Campervan/caravan/live-in vehicle price is £53.25 (including booking fee), in conjunction with weekend camping tickets only
- Local residents are eligible for a £5 discount on day tickets, £10 on weekend without camping tickets and £15 on weekend with camping tickets

Where will it take place?
Just So Festival takes place at the Rode Hall Estate at Rode Heath, near Alsager, in Cheshire.

The nearest railway station is Kidsgrove, three miles away.
How do I book tickets?

Tickets must be booked in advance and you should bring your tickets with you. There will be no tickets for sale at the gate.
Things to note about Just So Festival:
- The car park will open at 12noon on Friday 16 August so campers can set up early. Wristband exchange will also open at 12noon. The gates into the festival will open at 2pm
- Parents should write their mobile phone number on their children’s wristbands straight away (there is good mobile phone coverage on site)
- Campers are welcome to stay on site until 11am on Monday 19 August
- Day ticket-holders are allowed to stay at the festival from 9am until late (as long as they don’t stay over). The car park will open at 9am for day ticket-holders on Saturday and Sunday
- Your ticket entitles you to free parking for the duration of the festival
- If you require a disabled parking spot, please let the organisers know in advance.
- Nobody is permitted to sleep in the car park, in a tent, car, campervan or caravan
- Campervans and caravans will be turned away unless a campervan/caravan spot has been booked in advance
- Don’t bring animals, glass, bikes, anything illegal, fireworks, kites or sound systems
A few tips before you book:
- The camping is around a five-minute walk from the car park. The organisers can’t guarantee there will be volunteers available to help you carry your camping gear from the car park to the tent, so you should plan to do this yourself and only bring what you can reasonably manage
- There are no allocated camping pitches and there won’t be enough room for gazebos and canopies
- The hard-standing path around the site will be fine for most pushchairs, wheelchairs and buggies, but off-road versions will be more nimble
- Almost all of the areas are directly accessible with wheelchairs/pushchairs with the exception of some areas in the ‘Spellbound Forest’
- Parents of babies are recommended to use a baby carrier or sling to make sure they don’t miss out on anything (there will be a buggy park area and sling library)

Super fun! I love the idea of a festival that is kid-friendly and actually some fun for adults as well. Helping stories and imagination come to life is great for young minds. And the family bonding is sure to make for sweet memories. I’ll have to check this out if I’m ever in Cheshire!
