[Ad-gifted] One thing our family loves doing together is baking and I can safely say that during the lockdown we have spent many tasty hours cooking and baking all sorts of food from scratch at home.

The Bakedin Baking Club is actually a subscription service that gives you everything you need to make a delicious and exciting new bake, every month.  We received our box which contained a butter measure/conversion card, step-by-step recipe card to make Michel Roux‘s Carrot Cake Whoopie Pies and the dry ingredients such as white chocolate, sugar, flour, pistachio nuts, piping bag and baking paper sheets.

We were requested to provide the wet ingredients such as butter and eggs. This recipe is a 2 skill level with an estimated preparation time of 40 minutes and serves a total of 24 whoopie pies.

What did we think of the Whoopie Pies Subscription Box?

I love cooking and baking with both my children and I have to admit that sometimes I do run out of ideas on what to make with them.  I have not made a whoopie pie before and was a little worried when we received the box, but I knew for certain that this recipe was going to be a winner even before I made it as I love the legendary Michel Roux and have used his recipes any times before without fail.

The subscription box also means that it will allowed us to bake from scratch as most of the ingredients and instruction is provided to us (so you don’t have to be an expert baker).  All the ingredients was pre-measured out and the instruction card easy to read which meant, very little supervision was required and both my kids did everything on their own while I photographed them.

My kids totally love baking, so they were in their element, helping each other and working as a team which is always a plus point. This is also a great idea as a birthday present for a child, only thing is that you would need to order it in advance as the box is sent out during the first week of every month.

FAQ To Note:

• Each Baking Club box contains all the dry ingredients you’ll need for your bake – just add the fresh ones! These typically include eggs and butter, but sometimes fresh fruit and cream.
• Some of their Baking Club recipes contain nuts, and their factory handles nuts (but not peanuts or sesame seeds) so they are unable to cater for allergies, or guarantee that the Baking Club will be suitable for nut allergy sufferers. Their boxes are also not suitable for people with celiac disease or gluten intolerance
• All Baking Club boxes are suitable for vegetarians. Vegans are welcome to substitute fresh ingredients for vegan alternatives, such as flaxseed eggs and dairy-free butter, but they cannot guarantee that all recipes will be vegan.
• They design all the recipes in their Baking Club so that you only ever need to use a baking sheet, loaf tin, muffin tin, round cake tins and a square tin.
• If you are wondering, they keep their recipes a secret until a few days after they send the boxes out. That way, you get a lovely surprise when it lands on your doormat! They do, however, email out a shopping list on dispatch day to make sure you’ve got all the ingredients you need to get baking right away. About Bakedin 

The Bakedin story began back in May 2013. Joe and his good friend Anna had been lift sharing to work for a few months, and on a journey on the M3 the conversation moved onto the subject of baking.
