[Ad-gifted] Keeping children busy when travelling is essential as they can get restless if they are stuck on a long journey or at the hotel/camping site if the weather is bad. I often find that by taking games with me, kids can keep themselves occupied on the days we are not out sightseeing.
During the summer holiday, we travelled to Malaysia to see family and friends after nearly three years of not seeing anyone due to Covid and lockdown. Both our children took their favourite soft toys and games with them to keep them occupied during the 2 weeks holiday.
They love card games, hence packed John Adam‘s Classic Scrabble Cards amongst their books and other toys to take with them in their inflight bag. Keep on reading if you often go on holidays and are looking for ways in which to keep your children entertained whilst travelling.

If you are wondering, the Scrabble Cards is a card-based version of the classic Scrabble game with 3 ways to play it; the Classic, the Forfeit or Rummy method. I would easily say that the game is suitable for children who are 10 years-old and above, teens or adults as younger kids may have less patience with it.
- Classic – make the best words you can from the cards in your hands, and get high scores with Double and Triple Word Cards.
- Forfeit – with new action you can choose to increase your score – or take points away from another player.
- Rummy – Race to match a different target in each of ten rounds – but be quick, or miss out on the points!

The Cards, 136 of them plus the Rule cards comes in a lovely box and is compact and light enough to pack into your backpack or in-flight bag. The game is suitable for a family of four, although it can be played with just two players.

What did we think of the Scrabble Cards?
Packing toys and games with us when we head out on a holiday can be a chore due to space limitation, so having card games to take with us especially on a flight is so convenient as it is compact and easy to pack.
We do play Scrabble boardgame as a family hence the Scrabble Cards was not that difficult to play, at the moment kids are happy sticking to the classic option but we hope to try the others when we get around to it. Both my children found it fun to play the game, we found it harder to play at the airport with the smaller tables but enjoyed playing the game when we arrived at my parents house in Malaysia. The game is also suitable for kids who are aged 10 and above as it does not hold the attention of younger kids as easily. My son who was 9-years-old and my daughter who was 12-years-old found the game easy to play.
Where can you buy the Scrabble Cards and how much does it cost?
