[Ad-gifted] Imagine getting home on a Friday each month and cracking open a small gift box that has an easy-to-follow cocktail recipe for a minimum of two people alongside some tasty snacks, what better way to start your weekend?
We have been sent two subscription boxes to try from Cocktail Consultancy – one with a classic that most people love (I know I do) a Mojito and in the second Bees Knees a prohibition cocktail using Gin – both alongside a handy selection of snacks.
Well, if you think this would be something you’d fancy doing or if you would like to get this as a gift for someone then keep on reading our latest Cocktail Recipe review where we feature their May and June subscription boxes.

What I thought of the Cocktail Set
I have to say, I love, love, love making cocktails and inventing recipes too. If you read our blog you’ll know that often when we are sent a spirit I will be the one to be designated to create a recipe that will complement it but like everyone sometimes it’s nice for someone else to tell you what to make and how to make it. This is why I couldn’t wait to get inside the two subscription boxes from Cocktail Consultancy.

In the intro I mention how it’s great for a Friday night – but it’s also good for a mid-week treat when you don’t fancy leaving the house but still want a gorgeous drink to spruce up your evening. Plus the fact that there are snacks included in the set means you don’t have to remember the crisps on your way home from work.
The first kit is the Mojito kit and contains the recipe for your Mojito, two limes, two individual cans of Fever Tree Lime Soda, some fresh mint and the Rum, accompanied by two Mexican-style crisps – avocado tortillas and chipotle crisps. The recipe is stuck to the inside of the box although this is handy it would be nice to have it has a cardboard recipe that you can keep and re-create, rather than having to throw it away with the box.
The recipe is easy to follow, and makes it quick and easy to make the cocktail – although this wasn’t a classic Mojito as it was missing the muddle with brown sugar which I think would have taken away some of the bitterness of the drink. But I love the Fever Tree Lime Soda – this was a quick addition to a Mojito and is really tasty.

The next kit of the Bees Knees, which came with a little pot of honey, gin, two lemons and some sugar syrup with some edible flowers to garnish (this was a really surprising addition). This drink was a prohibition drink and considering all the sweetness with the sugar syrup and honey is was sour and sharp and had quite a kick.
These kits are so easy to use and with everything included, I thoroughly enjoyed making them. I made the kit with my neighbour who came over for some pre-weekend drinks, we had such a laugh creating them and nibbling on all the yummy snacks. You can get yours this July and follow our links below on how to do it.

I agree, all ready to start the party and weekend mode
I have to say, it sounds like a fantastic way to kickstart the weekend or enjoy a mid-week treat. The convenience of having all the ingredients and snacks included is a major plus. The Mojito kit and Bees Knees kit both seem delightful, although a cardboard recipe card would be a great addition for future reference. Overall, it’s a fun and easy way to create delicious cocktails at home. Cheers!
