Good Morning Sunshine
This has to be one of our favourite smoothies and one which my children loved. The smoothie consisted of a tasty mixture of oats, banana and strawberry combined with nuts and seeds. During summer I tend to make a similar smoothie with fruits and ice-cream without the nuts, so the taste was familiar to us but oatier. The smoothie was also very filling as we had this for brunch and kept our tummies filled till our late lunch. We love oats and often have it for breakfast as it helps with digestions, but it was lovely to know that you could include it into a booster drink with the strawberries (containing antioxidants, vitamins C and folic acid) as well as the bananas (rich in potassium and magnesium and high in vitamin B6 which supports your nervous system). Do note that this smoothie contains nuts and is included in their Honestly Fruit and Variety Box.
Ingredients
- 1 Banana
- 6 Strawberries
- 3 Tsp Flaxseed
- 1 Tbsp Sunflower Seeds
- 2 Tbsp Gluten Free Oats
- Handful of Almonds
- Add 270ml of Liquid

The Almond Tart One
This was the creamiest and nuttiest tasting smoothie out of the selection which we received. The smoothie consisted of butternut squash, almonds and prunes are balanced with sweet cinnamon and pear. I also found that this smoothie took the longest to blitz and to get it into the smoothest consistency. I have not had smoothies with squash and pears together but the flavours complimented each other, pears are an excellent source insoluble fibre (contain prebiotics) which help maintain a flourishing gut microbiome while prunes are an energy-dense food which are rich in vitamin K (essential for bone health and blood clotting). My family generally loves nuts, so adding almonds to this was just the perfect (high in monounsaturated fats, protein and vitamin E) as it helps with healthy hair, skin and nails. This smoothies also tasted less sweet and the sweetness was derived from the prunes and I had a lovely coconutty after taste to it. Needless to say that this smoothie contains nuts and is included in their Honestly Fruit and Variety Box.

Cheer Me Up
I really loved this and as cliched as it is, it did cheer me up and put a smile on my face soon as I took the first sip of the smoothie. Great on the days when you really feel gloomy and need a pick me up drink as it was so refreshing. The smoothie consisted of a cooling combo of cucumber, pineapple, hemp seeds, acai and more. Great as a breakfast smoothie or a late afternoon smoothie. Consisting of acai berries (rich in antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties), hemp seeds (high in arginine, vitamin E, magnesium, sulfur, calcium, iron and zinc), pineapple (contains vitamin C and antioxidant support). The smoothie has a sweet but sharp taste at the same time, the drink made me relax and supper chilled while I sat down to contemplate my plan for the day. Watch of for brain freeze if you are having it on a cold chilly morning. You can get this in their Honestly Fruit and Variety Box.

About Honestly Good
By Vikesh – “The old saying goes…”Mum always knows best”, and I have my superhero Mum to thank for inspiring my smoothie business. Like many people, there was a time in my life when I suffered from digestive problems. Thankfully, Mum quickly came to the rescue with her healthy home remedies. She began blending vegetable smoothies for me every morning, and before long had opened up her spice cupboard and added superfoods to them too. Within days this new morning ritual had improved my digestion, raised energy levels and even banished that elevenses snack attack. The only problem was time…or lack of it. I wasn’t prepared to swap my snooze to wash, peel, and chop ingredients every morning, and I couldn’t find another company that offered all organic veggie-packed smoothies. So, I handed in my notice and set up The Honestly Good Smoothie Co. (With Mum’s help, of course.)”
