Review: Lola’s Lashes Liberty Collection*

I have always been a girly girl, I love all things make up, lashes, nails, you name it, I want it. I used to wear semi-permanent eyelashes all the time however, being a mum of two I do not have the time for the upkeep of them having to be infilled every two weeks, so, I must admit its been a LONG time since I had eyelashes and even longer since I have attempted them myself.

When asked if I wanted to try Lola’s Lashes I jumped at them, I knew it was something I would just love and it would give me and excuse to dress up and feel that little bit extra. I was sent two sets from the Liberty Collection, which if you don’t know was a contestant on Love Island. I’m not afraid to admit a bit of reality TV is my guilty pleasure! I was sent The Girls Night Set and After Party Set from her stunning range.

The packaging was gorgeous with a slide out box containing the lashes, magnetic eyeliner, and a finishing touches pen. The lashes themselves are in a smaller magnetic box so you can keep them safe and use again and again.

I originally went to try the After Party set with little make up on just to test drive and I will be honest I felt they were far too much and that I may need to have a few more practice runs.

I decided to leave it till my girl’s night out, I did a full face of makeup and then brought the lashes back out, this time opting for the Girls Night. I started with my own eyeliner as I have always struggled with liquid and mine is a felt tip style which I’m most confident with, I then used the magnetic liner over my own. Whilst I let it set, I put a tiny amount of mascara on my natural lashes to help them blend in and then I was ready to tackle the magnetic strip. To my surprise they clicked perfectly into place instantly. No messing, no rearranging, no desperately trying to get them to the lash line, the magnetic liner literally did its trick and almost pulled the strip into place itself. It was the easiest application ever! I did think it could have been a fluke and quickly went on to my next eye almost thinking it was too good to be true, again applied my own eyeliner as a guide, followed the magnetic liner, applied mascara to whilst the eyeliner set and then simply pinged the other strip on! Honestly it was that simple. You do not need to be a novice to get these lashes, I admit you may need some skills in applying eyeliner however, that’s where your finishing touch-up comes into play, if you do make an error you can simply erase it with the touch up pen! What’s even better is that the touch up pen comes with a spare tip too!

I went out at 6pm in the eyelashes, I took the eyeliner in my bag as strip lashes always seem to come off at the ends, however I did not touch them up. They stayed attached as I danced the night away (and I really danced) until the early hours. When I came home at 3.30am (which may I add is the first time pre babies) I came home removed the eyelashes that were perfectly intact and placed them back in the box (my former pre children self would have stumbled in with a kebab and slept in them which I wouldn’t advise but they definitely have the staying power for).

The following week we had a little date night so I pulled The After Party set back out and thought I would properly attempt them, I got ready around 11am even though I wasn’t going out till 7pm as its when my youngest naps and I had every bit of faith in their staying power. I followed my previous steps, and they went on flawlessly. They were definitely more of a statement lash than the first set, but looked lush. I would however use these for a night out and the other set for a date night.

I can’t even begin to explain how much I loved these, I did think the price was steep when I originally saw them, however they are worth every penny. You get at least 30+ wears from them, they are the easiest lash I have ever applied, and believe me there have been a few and they did not budge!

Both of these sets were a little bolder than anything I would have purchased myself but I love them! It’s so nice to feel glam again as it doesn’t happen often. I have already been on their website and have put the Liberty Brunch and Lowkey set in my basket for a daytime look.

What I thought about it?

If I haven’t said it enough already, they are by far the best lashes I have ever tried! They go on effortlessly, there staying power is incredible and honestly worth every penny. What I love even more is that once you have purchased your kits at £35 you can go on and buy just the lashes for just £20. I know saying this it seems pricier than the average extensions, but these are far from average.
