I just love having food items delivered straight through your letterbox, its just the kind of post everyone wants. But today’s review is food, but not the kind that comes ready-made. This is a great little food kit that fits perfectly through your letterbox and provides you with a great little treat. You may have read our last blog about Bakedin with their Michel Roux’s Whoopie Pie set, well this time it is Tiger Bread.
Whenever we go to our local supermarket bakery, my husband always looks out for Tiger Bread or Giraffe bread as its called in some stores (apologies if there is actually a difference), and although I make bread, I have never tried to make Tiger Bread. I always thought this bread would be really hard to make and totally unachievable but this is where Bakein have proved (excuse the pun!) that this bread is super easy when using their kit.

What I thought of the Bakedin Tiger Bread Kit
This kit has everything you need to make this bread – the only thing you need to add is oil and water. This kit was posted straight through our door, which makes it so fun to get, and makes for a great gift too. The box is sturdy so all the items are super safe inside. When opening the pack you will see that all the contents are clearly labelled with numbers and you are provided with a recipe card/instruction manual inside too.

I got my eldest daughter to help me with this one, as my boys had just being playing with another review we got earlier. My daughter loves to cook and bake, so this kit was perfect for her to be getting on with on a cold Sunday afternoon. She read the instructions herself and got out all the bowls she needed based on the instructions. She then began her bread.

Each stage is clearly marked and corresponds clearly with the instructions provided. She was able to make the dough really easily and allowed it to prove whilst we went out. Once we came back we went on to the next stage, which was splitting down the rolls, she did need a little help with this just to make sure they were even and followed the instructions on how to roll them and popped them on a tray to rise again.

The Tiger Bread is created using a topping (which I had no idea about) and again this step is described perfectly and works really well. All we had to do was spread it on top of the bread before baking. We did, however, find that the bake time wasn’t quite right, but if you judge it off the colour of your bread (which needed to be golden) we just baked it a little longer and it worked out fine. The bread turned out perfectly and was a great accompaniment to our dinner that evening.

How to pack your cake?
If you are a baker and love to share or sell your handmade treats. You can choose a transparent box with a custom die cut stickers as labels. You can design your own logo on the sticker, or write blessings. This will make your food look more refined and professional.
Where can you buy Bakedin Subscription boxes?
You can get bread subscription boxes here, but be sure to check out the rest of the website, as they also have some really good cake kits, mug kits which would make great alternative presents for Christmas.
How much is a subscription?
They start at £30 for three months and you get one box per month. Each kit has everything you need to make what is in your box. It’s perfect to do on a rainy day.

About Bakedin
Bakedin came about when car-sharing duo Joe and Anna got into talking about baking one day on their way to work. With help from another friend, they made the plan of what now has become Bakedin. They wanted to create a way for people to be able to bake without the fuss of all the prep, which is how they developed all their kits and recipes.
Equally, with a chance meeting with Michel Roux he then went on to help them approve some of their initial recipes. Which is a wow for anyone who loves Masterchef, and imagine having an acclaimed pastry chef giving the ok on many of your products.
Bakedin kits are now available on many a supermarket shelf and around the globe, as far-reaching as America. They make baking easy and even if you can’t get to a supermarket you can always consider using their subscription baking kits, which means you don’t even have to leave the house to receive a beautiful, cake, loaf of bread or muffin mix, you can simply wait for it to be posted straight through your door.
Check out their website and let them show you how happiness is made at home!

This sounds like a great idea. We quite like bread and I know the kids would love to make some. They love helping me in the kitchen when I cook.
How wonderful to hear that Melanie, such a great idea indeed
I absolutely love tiger bread so this sounds like a brilliant idea! I’d of had no idea how to even begin making my own.
In fact I’ve not made bread myself since doing home economics in school!
All the instructions are clearly stated and they do provide the dry ingredients as well so worth checking this box out
This sounds like such a great subscription idea! We love baking in our house so a subscription like this would go down a treat!
Yes it would and keeps little ones busy for a few good hours too
Baked In do some really good monthly boxes don’t they? I did their mug club for a while and loved getting different ones each month. This sounds perfect for people who want to try out making new breads!
Absolutely agree with you Sarah, we have tried their monthly cookie bake and that was really fun as well
How did I not know about this I come from a long line of bakers and although not as often bake my own bread, I need to have a look at this as sounds like a great box
It is a fantastic box for kids and such a fun activity as well
This sounds like such a good idea to help make bread making easy. I do love a tiger roll or loaf too. This might be something fun to do in the lead up to Christmas you can’t beat freshly made bread x
Agree, nothing like the smell and taste of freshly made bread
YUM! These look absolutely delicious! We are already huge fans of the bakedin baking boxes so will definitely have to check out the bread box. So pleased to hear they follow a similar style with numbered bags and easy to follow recipe cards as we love this about the baking boxes.
Thank you for your lovely comments Jess, glad you are a fan as well
Love the sound of this subscription, it’s always fun to try something new at home.
Absolutely agree, especially fun if you are making these with kids
I had no idea that the tiger bread has a top layer on it that gives it the crusty texture! You learn something new every day…This kit looks great, and so good that kids can work their way through the instructions and learn a useful life skill at the same time as having fun and spending quality time with their grown ups.
If you pop by the bakery, you can see large breads as well as tiny rolls with this design. Yes a fab kit for kids
