[Ad] In this review we were asked to try a CBD filter coffee made by The Leaf Co. In the rise in use of CBD oil its interesting to see how it can be taken in a variety of ways. Many of the believed benefits of consuming CBD is that it could relive pain, help in relieving symptoms of anxiety and depression, alleviate cancer symptoms, could reduce acne and high have neuroprotective (which they think could help with suffers of MS). At the moment all these benefits are so far untested in within longterm studies, however, many people are increasing their intake of CBD and include it within their daily routine. So what better way to trial it than within a coffee.
The Leaf Co pride themselves in being a company with a holistic approach to alternative medicine. They want to add CBD oil to a balance and healthy lifestyle, and aid in the happiness and wellbeing of their customers. Therefore providing a bit of ’TLC’ to the people who choose to buy their products!. The oil that is used is made via CO2 extraction which is the standard process of extracting the oil from the cannabis stavia plant. They ensure they get the best quality product and even go as far as having the CBD oil independently tested.
We decided to try a filter coffee, which is suitable for vegans, gluten-free and GMO free. The coffee comes in a usual style resealable coffee pouch that keeps the coffee fresh. You can also purchase the coffee as just the beans, or medium ground and if you prefer decaf you can also get it in this format too!
This coffee was tasted over several days which meant we could asses the strength of the coffee, its CBD oil qualities and its taste. On the first day I invited my in-laws over to taste the coffee with me, as we all like different styles and strengths this felt like a good test to see how it faired over a range of tastes. I filled my coffee machine with water to make 8 cups and used three heaped tablespoons of powder in my filter. I then let the magic happen! My initial thoughts about the coffee were that it was quite weak but had a really pleasant taste. I took mine with quite a bit of milk, which did mellow some of the taste of the CBD oil coming through, my father in law, however, had it with only a drop of milk and although you can taste the CDB oil it has the perfect balance with the coffee therefore isn’t overpowering at all.
Day two, I decreased my water and only made 6 cups but kept the same amount of coffee (three heaped tablespoons). This made for a much stronger coffee, although due to the mild smoky taste that the coffee has it still doesn’t appear to be over strong. I had it this time with a little vanilla syrup, which I love to have as a treat every now and then in my coffee. This again didn’t over power the original taste of the coffee but just added a vanillery sweetness that is sometimes nice when you want to mix it up.
Day three, I did 7 cups of water with four tablespoons of coffee, this for me was the perfect mix and made a great tasting strong coffee. The coffee has a certain smokiness to it, as I previously mentioned, but isn’t bitter. Due to the fact you can add as much or a little coffee to your filter machine you really can suit a variety of palettes. You can make it as strong or as weak as you like. Which for me is perfect when making a coffee as it means that you can adapt it to who you have over for drinks! Equally in terms of tase the CBD element is definitely present, I find from previous experience that the CBD oil has a metal quality to it, but even though I could taste it it wasn’t overpowering and I felt that it mixed well with the taste of the coffee.

In terms of the CBD qualities, I did notice the affects of the coffee almost instantly. I run at least twice a week (not very far) but it does continually affect my left hip, where I suffer with a dull ache for at least three days after running, but within an hour of me drinking the coffee I felt as though the ache had eased, as for its affects on the days that followed, I can’t be sure whether it did ease the pain as usable it is already starting to subside, but I did have an overall sense of calm a little while after drinking and again on the first day once it had worn off I noticed my pain come back a little.
Now of course I am no expert of CBD and I have not taken it in a medicinal way prior to this, so I can’t be sure that purely drinking the coffee is what made my pain subside, but it really did feel as though it was this that was doing it considering I don’t ever take any pain relief medicine for it.
If you are curious to try CBD oil but don’t fancy just the spray this could be your perfect way in, as you would simply swap your morning cuppa, for The Leaf Co CBD coffee giving your start to the day a little TLC!. You can take of look at other items they stock on their website.

How much does The Leaf Co CDB Filter Coffee cost?
100g of coffee (whether it be beans, medium ground or fine ground for filter machines) costs £17.95 whilst the 250g CBD Coffee Filter costs £32.95.
(Based on my personal preference of weaker trial of coffee, I would be using just under 1 tablespoon of coffee per mug – which is around 15g of coffee. So in a 250g bag you would get approximately 16 cups of coffee, costing £2.05 per cup. Which as you know is much cheaper than your local coffee shop and also has the added benefits of the CBD oil, which on its own is a considerable expense).
Some important facts:
- All their products and packaging are eco-friendly and recyclable.
- Their coffee beans are ethically sourced through accredited Rainforest Alliance Farms.
- 100% Natural no artificial colours, aromas or preservatives.
- 100% arabica coffee.
- They have sourced the highest quality, full spectrum CBD, sustainable, and organic where possible
- Will CBD make me high? – No. CBD is not a psychotropic compound, and won’t produce the intoxication that THC does (the “high” that marijuana users are familiar with). Most people using CBD say they feel “clear-headed” and calmer than they usually feel
- Available as Beans, Medium Ground, or Filter.

What is CBD?
Cannabidiol, more commonly known as CBD, is one of the many identified cannabinoid molecules found in Cannabis plants. Like all cannabinoid molecules, it interacts with the endocannabinoid system in the human body. But because CBD isn’t psychoactive, it doesn’t produce the “high” commonly associated with its more famous cannabinoid cousin, THC. That means that CBD, which is often derived from hemp, or male cannabis plants, doesn’t produce the high that cannabis products are often associated with. Instead, CBD possesses a wide variety of medical applications.
While research is ongoing, studies have already demonstrated that CBD is an effective treatment for epilepsy among many other conditions. But this cannabinoid is what’s known as a promiscuous molecule, meaning that it interacts with many different types of neuroreceptors. That suggests current studies may just be scratching the surface of CBD’s therapeutic potential.
Why use CBD?
How much The Leaf Co CDB Filter Coffee should I take?
Cannabis, like many herbal remedies, offers a very individualised experience, for some, a little goes a long way; for others, it takes more to produce the desired effect. When beginning CBD, it’s best to start with a small dose and build gradually. As with any new product, it is important to become familiar with how your body responds to CBD before increasing the dose.
Where do their coffee beans come from?
TLC pride themselves in sourcing only the highest quality speciality grade coffee beans. Social responsibility and sustainable environmental practices are central to their values therefore all their 100% arabica beans are ethically sourced, fully traceable and Rainforest Alliance Certified. To ensure the best flavour profile for your CBD cup of coffee they specially select single-origin beans and skilfully roast them to enhance their fundamental quality and flavour. Their roasting process delivers a smooth, rich-tasting coffee with a depth of flavour.
The hints of chocolate, nuts and citrus work well in combination with the infused CBD oil. Freshness is the key for great coffee so they roast their CBD oil coffee to order in small batches.

The number 1 thing I look at is all their products and packaging are eco-friendly and recyclable, this is important for me. Coffee is something we can’t stop having so a good cup of fragrance coffee is the day to success.
Can’t agree with you more there, the packaging is so important to us as well, the first thing that attracts me to the product

This is still new in many places, and its great to find out more about its benefits
I’ve heard a lot about CBD lately…I know it’s very trendy but I don’t know how I feel about something extracted from cannabis. Very informative post though for those who are interested!
Yes a lot of people are still unsure about it so its best to read up on it first and find out if the health benefit is something you need in your life as each person is different
Interesting read. I’ve never tried CBD oil in any shape or form before. I didn’t realise they could take it like this.
Well so glad you stopped by to read our review of it and learn something new
I know a few people who use and love CBD oil and have heard that it is helpful for fibromyalgia which I suffer from but have not tried it myself as I’m not keen on the idea of the oil so this looks like a good alternative way to try the benefits of CBD. Love that their packaging is eco friendly and recyclable and that the coffee beans are ethically sourced.
Thanks for your positive comments Elizabeth and so glad you already done some research about CBD products. Yes the Coffee is an alternative option to the Oils which some may not like to use
I did not know all the wonderful benefits that are being associated with CBD, its good to see it incorporated in many products.
