[Ad-gifted] I love everything about summer, from the hot muggy weather, the long days and us spending time outdoors in the garden, either sitting and reading a book or toasting marshmallows as the sun sets.
We try to make the most of the sunny weather by spending hours in the garden, my son especially loves playing football and having a decent sized goal post set up in the garden is a great way to get him out from his routine of staying indoors and playing video games or creating youtube videos on a nice day.
So in today’s post, we are showcasing SONGMICS‘s Football Gate which is perfect for the garden and what we thought about it.

What did we think?
Firstly, if you have a child who loves kicking balls in the garden, it is best to invest in a good goal post or you might end up with a wobble fence post. This particular goal post from SONGMICS is both lightweight (4.8kg) and durable and unlike a previous goal post we owned, this particular one is not made of plastic but metal.
The goal post, arrived in a compact box, light and easy enough to carry and take with you on your motor home or holiday home if you travel during the summer holidays. it comes with 4 stakes to help stabilize the goal post to the ground.
Measuring 215cm x 76cm x 150cm, the goal post consists of powder-coated metal pipes and a PE net. My son is 11-years old and just around 150cm, hence the height of the goal post is perfect for him.
The instruction booklet was clearly labelled and there were corresponding numbers on the goal post, so assembling it was very easy. We were also provided with lots of Velcro straps to secure the net to the metal post. This worked well as it is easy to strap the net or remove it quickly.
We also found the goal post was easy to disassemble so great to keep away during the cold winter months to prolong its longevity. Once the post was fixed, the stakes helped to stabilise it hence it did not move whenever the ball was kicked in.
My son has enjoyed playing football in the garden on his own, with his friends and even with his dad and grandpa. It is such a great way to encourage children to be out in the garden getting some fresh air and getting some exercise at the same time.

That is so fun to have. Bet your son would enjoy it. My son used to play soccer and he would have enjoyed having that but our yard is way too hilly.
