[Ad-gifted] Hope everyone has been enjoying the snow and have been keeping warm this week. We have started back to our normal routine of kids heading back to school and us back to work and shuttling kids for their after school clubs despite the snow.

One of the things I really enjoy most especially in winter is a good cuppa hot-chocolate or herbal tea especially if I’ve been out for a walk or building snowman with the kids. So I can confirm that it has been the perfect time to review the Series 5 Home Barista Hot Drinks Machine from Haier.

If you are wondering what the machine does, it basically makes barista style hot drinks from Americano, cappuccino, steaming coffee, frothy milk, foamed milk, luxurious hot chocolates to tasty infused teas at home. The best part? You do not need to get any additional capsule to insert into the machine, just use your existing favourite brand of grounded or instant coffee; loose tea or tea bags and grated chocolate or hot chocolate sachets to make hot chocolate; all with a touch of a button.

What did I think of the Haier I-Master Hot Drinks Machine?

I can easily say that I have had a few beverage machines ranging from pod coffee machines, coffee makers to milk frothers but have not managed to find one home-styled compact machine which does it all so I was very intrigued to see if Haier I-Master would be the machine which I have been looking for all these years. 

The second thing which instantly got my attention was that I did not need a pod to make my drink and that I could use our own preferred brand of hot chocolate or instant/ground coffee as well as my plant-based teabags and loose leaf teas. I was never a fan of using the pods as there is so much plastic waste and I find that I need to keep buying the refill pods so the multi beverage machine is not only eco-friendly but saves me money in the long run.

The machine is black in colour and very sleek looking and easily fit into any modern kitchen and it does not take too much space.  All functions are performed with the touch of a button and the jug is very easy to clean as  its non-stick and comes with a cleaning brush.  The I-Master Hot Drinks Machine also comes with a metal reusable filter if you are planning to make your drink using ground coffee or loose leaf teas. The filter has fine holes so the drink is infused perfectly but with minimal residue.

Making the drink was really easy, I tested, a few drinks and noticed that the drinks were not burning hot but heated to the right temperature. I also love how compact the Haier The I-Master Hot Drinks Machine is, the machine makes drinks for 1 person as it has a capacity of 0.35L so perfect if you live on your own or with your husband/partner. So saves you boiling water each time when you just want 1 cup of hot drink.  But if you have friends around, then you would need to do the drinks separately for each of them or perhaps just use the machine to froth the milk. That being said it only took a couple of minutes for each drink to be made so multiple drinks can be easily done.

I loved the taste of the hot chocolate as sometimes I struggle to get the right temperature in the morning and either its too cold or too hot. This made a delicious cuppa with just a touch of a button and I used my favourite Swiss hot chocolate brand  so enjoyed the taste especially with the frothy milk.

You could make Barista-style coffee at home as you have the option to use instant coffee or ground coffee. I used instant coffee to make the coffee and added the froth milk to give it a delicious finish similar to a latte.  Using the machine was very easy and hassle free and each drink just took minutes to make.

Cleaning the jug was easy as well, the cleaning brush comes in  handy especially to wash off the hot chocolate or coffee residue. I have only tested the machine with tea bags and hope to try some loose green tea the next time. I am so glad that I do not need to add in pods into this machine as pods are expensive and secondly, there is just so much waste each time a drink is made.

We have already used the Haeir Multi-beverage machine multiple times now and I do see it being used quite often in my house and and it will save me from heading to the coffee shops for a brew.
