The last month has been very exciting for us as a family as we saw the England men’s national football team progress to the finals of the UEFA EURO 2020 for the first time in more than 50 years. Not only did we get to see how football united the whole of England but it gave us the chance to talk to our son about winning, losing, being positive till the very end, about national pride and how proud we are of the team no matter the outcome. So it was just the right time that we were asked by Garden Comforts to review their Airwave Strike Football Goal and feature it to our readers.

What did we think?
We received the goal post fairly quickly and it came delivered in a compact flatbox with ground pegs and plastic hooks to help secure the goal post and net. The assembly of the goal post was fairly quick as it comes with a push-button locking mechanism hence it just took minutes to set up the frame. To assemble this football goal, my husband had to slot the poles into the joints so that the pushbuttons are aligned with the holes, ensuring it’s securely locked in but the net was a little tricky to clip over the frame hence that took some time.
Since the frame is easy to disassemble, it is perfect to then pack it away quickly especially if you have a small garden and are having family/friends around for a barbeque.
Made from durable and lightweight UPVC, the frame is easy to move around yet rigid when assembled. The material is also weatherproof hence suitable for all year round, perfect for the unpredictable British weather. We have left our frame in the garden for weeks now and it still looks new.
I found that having this goal has encouraged my son to spend more time outdoors in the garden instead of being stuck indoor on gadgets. Having the football goal also means that my beautiful rose bush and flowers will not have any more balls kicked at it and it also protects my fence panels. We have featured the 8ft x 4ft football goal in this post but if you have a shorter fence panel/your garden faces a busy road or if you have older children/adults who love to kick the ball higher, then the 8ft x 6ft football goal would be a better option for you.
Note:
- This football goal is best used on a flat grass surface
- It is advisable not to leave this football goal outdoors throughout adverse weather conditions such as high winds
- Children are asked not to climb or hang from the crossbar.

We have featured the Airwave Strike Football Goal which measures 8ft x 4ft (as this was the perfect size for our garden) and weighs around 4kg. This particular model costs £39.99 while the 8ft x 6ft model costs £44.99 (this would be great for a garden with lower fence panels or one which face a busy road.
