[Ad-gifted] My three, almost four-year-old, daughter Jemma loves animals and has always enjoyed playing with vet or farm themed toys. This is her first experience of playing with a Playmobil set and it has been a big hit.
As a busy mum, it’s a relief to open a large toy set and not have to do lots of reading of instructions and complicated set-up! We could basically empty the contents out, click the doors and ramp onto the barn, click the trailer onto the tractor and it was all ready to be played with. There are instructions, but it was honestly very self-explanatory.
The large box has 29-pieces, which perfectly combine with other Playmobil farm and animal sets. There is a farm family – man, woman, and child – a barn that has a roof where your little one can practice colour and shape sorting, a tractor with trailer and a tailgate that opens and closes, a wheelbarrow, and a pony.

The family figures can be easily slotted onto the tractor, wheelbarrow and pony, which allows for creative play, moving the family around the farm giving them different tasks to do.
There are also various animals – a cow, goat, two sheep, rooster and chicken, rabbit, cat and dog – plus lots of animal accessories such as a dog house, feeding trough and tray, and even a nest with eggs for the hen to sit on.
The toy is aimed at kids aged one to four, which is quite a diverse age from little toddlers to pre-schoolers, but I do think the Farm Adventure has something to keep both ends of the age range happy and entertained.

What we thought of the Playmobil Junior Farm Adventure
Jemma is very independent, so she liked that she didn’t have to keep asking me to attach the little figures to the tractor, wheelbarrow or pony, she was able to do it all herself.
The animals are super cute, and Jemma loved discovering each one and naming them as she pulled them out of the box. I think it’s the animal accessories that make this set so much fun for the kids. Jemma loved setting up the animals with their relevant accessories – popping the dog in its little dog house, perching the hen on her nest of eggs, having the pony and its rider stop for hay at the feeding trough.

The number of items in this set was just right, not too many to be overwhelming but enough so that she could get really creative with her play.
I was a little worried that she might get bored with it once she had set the animals up but luckily that was not the case at all. It definitely promoted imaginative play, she pretended it was a farm day and talked me through all the things that everyone had to do that day, moving the people and animals around the farm, then popping the animals in the barn when it was their bedtime.

She also enjoyed playing just with the animals, lining them up in size order, then singing ‘Old Macdonald Had a Farm’ and including all of the animals in the song. And although she is probably a little old for the colour and shape sorting aspect of the barn roof, she still enjoyed doing it, especially as she could match the shapes and colours so easily.
My pre-schooler loves this toy and often chooses to play with it, both as something to do on her own and also an imaginative game to play with one of her little friends. But I can also see how amazing the Farm Adventure set would be for younger toddlers. There are no tiny fiddly pieces to worry about, the animals are the perfect size for chubby little hands to grasp, the set is colourful and appealing, and the barn roof will be brilliant to help little ones to learn colours and shapes.
I think Jemma will get lots more enjoyment out of this toy for at least the next year, but because it’s so durable I can also see us handing this down to friends’ children for them to get even more joy from.

Where can you buy the Playmobil Junior Farm Adventure and how much does it cost?

This is a great little set to let the kids get creative and learn to appreciate nature, too. I think it’s adorable.
Yes the Playmobil toys are super cute indeed
I love the detail they put into this set. I mean, the hens can even sit on the eggs. That’s pretty neat.
Hahaha yes, love the design to the toys and how realistic they look
The farm toy is super cute, I love it…Perfect gift for my friend’s daughter. I will get it. Thanks a lot.
Great gift as a birthday present or Christmas gift
I grew up in a farm area and love this idea. Kids need to learn where our food comes from and how a farm works.
Absolutely! And this is a great way to explain to kids about farming and the importance of food
Playmobil has changed so much from when my daughters were kids. They had a similar set like this by the same brand, though the new set has some nice improvements.
They do keep improving all the time and it is wonderful that they grow as a company
That’s so good that there wasn’t a lot of set up for this, so she could just get on playing with it. Playmobil is one of those brands that feels like it’s been around forever so it’s so nice for kids to still be enjoying it now x
Agree, I love toys that kids can play with soon a s they come out of the box and no more fixing required
The little horse eating! This is such a cute playset – glad your child enjoyed it.
