Well, smol is our latest Home Product Review, where we have been sent a small range of their cleaning products to try out – so you don’t have to! I will update you on how they work, whether they match the products we already know and love and how you can order yours. If you want to know more about smol keep reading our latest blog post.

What did I think of the smol products?
I am pretty sure that I am a hard person to convince to swap my cleaning habits; that is why I was the perfect member of the Yeah Lifestyle team to try out smol products for the first time.
I love clean/green, cleaning and because of that, I tend to limit the amount of bleach in our house and use vinegar with/and bicarbonate of soda and regular washing-up liquid to do most of my cleaning jobs. I have been known to make my own washing powder – although it became too time-consuming with three children and a husband who is 6f1 – whose one outfit can fill a 9kg washing machine! So, as you can see from this, I am always on the lookout for products that match what I already use with the same conscious approach to being green.
In the smol package that Yeah Lifestyle were sent – we received their six swaps bundle – which allows you to try out their products without too much commitment. From there, you can choose which items worked for you and which didn’t. The bundle pricing and delivery details are below, so keep reading to hear our breakdown of each of the products included in this kit.

smol products try to limit their use of single-use plastic, so I was surprised at how little packaging there was when I opened the box, considering everything that was included. All the packaging that smol have is also ALL recyclable which I loved.
In the bundle, there is – a 9 pack of dishwasher tablets, a 9 pack of washing liquid tabs, four bottles for life, which can be filled up with the refill bottles of; washing-up liquid, stain remover liquid and fabric softener; plus a small dissolvable tablet to create a full bottle of multipurpose spray.
Which products worked for me I hear you ask? Well, I was super impressed with the dishwasher tablets. I used them on a quick 45-minute wash. I chose this was speed on purpose as most tablets can’t often manage to do a good task at such a fast speed. The dishes (that were from breakfast and soup at lunch, plus several glasses) came out so zingy clean; they were incredibly shiny. So, this was a win for me.

Next, I filled all the bottles for life, with the refill bottles that came in the bundle. I have to say this was a little tricky getting all the contents into the bottle and smol if you’re reading this, please send your swaps bundle with a reusable funnel so that you don’t waste some of the contents when pouring them into their bottles!
For the second refill, I got the washing-up liquid, which again was a huge success. It didn’t make the water overly soapy but cleaned everything so well. The third was the stain remover, which I found to be quite handy. I used it to remove a tomato stain from a tea towel, and it managed it!

Next was the laundry softener – as someone who doesn’t use softener, ever – I got my mother-in-law to try this out, that way there would be a clear comparison for those who use softener in their wash. We did the test alongside the washing liquid tabs, they washed well and softened well and easily matched leading brand alternatives.
Lastly, the multisurface cleaner. This was really powerful and I used it on my induction hob initially, then on my kitchen side and even the floor. I have to say, it was great. It left the side clean and refreshed without needing to be rinsed. I simply sprayed and wiped it until the marks had gone.

For me, my two absolute favourite products were the washing-up liquid and the multipurpose spray, followed closely behind, in third place, were the dishwasher tablets. These felt like sure swaps for me and would complement the products I already use.
As for the other products, they were all successful at cleaning, however, with the laundry washing liquid tabs, I would need to try them for a good month to be sure, as we, as a family, suffer from sensitive skin. But that being said, my mother-in-law felt it would still be a good swap and the fact that there isn’t a fragrance shows you it cuts back on some of the toxic chemicals we have come to love even though we know they aren’t good for us.

About smol
They are here to chip away at the impacts most household cleaning companies don’t give two hoots about. They are focused on increasing nature’s biodiversity, cleaning its waterways and preventing waste by eliminating single-use plastic.
They aim to make clean-cleaning products that have considered the types of ingredients they use to make them. Making sure that they biodegrade and don’t clog the waterways with toxic chemicals that impact fish and also us.
They equally want to create affordable products so you don’t have to make the clean green swap and be out of pocket. Find out more about their smol Revolution and the other great things they do as well as more details on their products here.

This was an interesting read. I keep trying ‘eco’ cleaning products, but haven’t found a brand that has encouraged me to continue buying it. You said you were impressed with the dishwasher tablets, so I may well give these a go! Not tried any smol before!
You can purchase their items individually or as a box set
These sound pretty great. I love that they have seemed to be effective for you without all the harsh chemicals. I’d love to try it!
