Functional Fashion Review: Eden Backpack by Kovered**

If you’re one of the many taking up some new hobbies this January, and getting out and about in the fresh air might be one of them, but you still need to pack with you the kitchen sink, you need to check out our latest rucksack review. When we leave the house, I just wish we could leave without a big bag but with three children, thats almost impossible! So when we were sent the Eden Bag, by Kovered, we felt like the perfect family to try it out to its full potential.

When looking for rucksacks I have to say I do like one that looks good as well as being functional, so just your average walking bag doesn’t do for me, I like one with a bit more style and perhaps less focus on visual functionality. What we thought of the Eden Bag by Kovered 

Well firstly I love the logo, it has a Nordic quality to it and is a firm feature on the front of the backpack. The design is really nice not too outdoorsy, but stylish enough that you could use it on your commute to work, or a weekend away (if you can pack light), but especially could for carting around my children’s junk. I also like a backpack for taking to the shops too, as it is a great way of carrying some of my shopping if I want to walk there and back to get a bit of extra exercise and this bag can definitely accommodate that too.

The Eden bag is unbelievably versatile and has so many pockets that allow you to use it for all kinds of situations. In terms of style it has a compact look, even though it can hold quite a lot of stuff.  The bag feels sturdy and yet it is very light, which is also a plus, as I hate bags that are already heavy prior to them having anything in them. Colour-wise we went for Moss, which is a Moss Green, but I was also drawn to the yellow, but as I wanted something that would suit us all I thought a more muted colour would be best. Although the yellow would be great if you’re travelling, especially in an airport, as it would be an eyesore to pinch and therefore put off any opportunists!

It also has drinks pockets in the side, which are great to use if you’re biking or using it to go on a short walk, or like me going shopping. As well as all the zip pockets on the outside, it has several pockets on the inside – one large one at the back for the laptop, or books and files, depending on what you’re carrying. It also has a couple of zipped areas, which you could store, things you don’t want floating around the bottom of your bag. I would say the bag itself has plenty of room for your laptop, one pair of shoes, a couple of tops and trousers, and maybe (in my case) a dress, and plenty of pockets of minimal makeup. Which makes it perfect to take on a short break too.

The bag feels good quality, but of course without using it a number of times it’s hard to know how well it will cope, however, Kovered ensure that their bags are long-lasting and this is a pretty big selling point on their website. They pledge that their bags have great longevity in style as well as quality. Which I think is great to know. Equally, and quite a novelty in my eyes, they also pledge, that if any part of your bag fails, they will repair or replace it. I am yet to find out whether this is relevant for all of their products, but I suspect, if this is a feature you like, to drop them an email to check.

All in all, this is a stylish and functional bag, and I would recommend checking out other Kovered products, as they really do have some nice bags and in a reasonable variety of styles. I also particularly like their holdalls which are of course well matched if you want to pack in a lot of stuff, but still only have one bag on your person. In comparison, the smaller Eden backpack is perfect for our family five and the many things we are likely to use it for, which makes it a brilliant bag for us!
