Big Splash Circus by Karina Choudhrie
[Ad-gifted] My children love reading and they have been reading all sorts of books during the lockdown to keep them occupied and entertained. Today, we are featuring one of the books we were sent to review and host a giveaway to which is Big Splash Circus.
In this book, Karina Choudhrie has cast lovable characters to enchant and inspire the reader. The aim of the book is to celebrate the talent in each and every single child, spreading kindness, love and laughter as the world is a beautiful place and it is important to keep it that way. So read on to find out more about this book and how you can win a hardback copy of the book worth £11.99
About Big Splash CircusÂ
The book shares about the greatest show under the sea and Lantern Fish the popcorn seller who wishes he could be an important star in the show, like his friend’s Crab, Jellyfish and Starfish. Lantern Fish’s friends offer to help him find his talent, but he’s no good at playing the trumpet-like Crab or juggling like Jellyfish.
Starfish offers to swap jobs with Lantern Fish and Lantern Fish gets to ride Starfish’s unicycle in the circus while Starfish sells popcorn and snacks. But Starfish is hopeless at selling popcorn and Lantern Fish turns into the star of the show when he rides backwards, and then upside down in a wibbly-wobbly line.
Blowfish the ringmaster tells Lantern Fish he has lots of special talents. He makes everyone laugh and is great at adding up money so he is very good at selling his popcorn and snacks. Lantern Fish is happy once he realises that he really is an important part of the show. Blowfish puffs up in anger when he realises Lantern Fish and Starfish have swapped places.
Lantern Fish is upset and swims off to hide. His friends look everywhere for him. Can you see him?  There he is. His friend Sunfish finds him. ‘Don’t give up,’ she tells him. ‘I’m only good at painting the circus scenery because I try so hard. To be good at something you have to try hard. So try again. Your special talent will shine through.’

What my son thought of the book
I like the book as I thought the book gives an important message at the end of it. Lantern Fish is talented but he does not realise it. When he sees all his friends performing, he wanted to perform on stage just like them, so he got his friends to teach him how to balance a ball on his head and how to play the drums, but he was bad at it. In the end, he decided to swap jobs with Starfish so he could ride the unicycle while Starfish would sell snacks. But they both did terribly as Starfish kept getting the orders wrong and Lantern Fish kept falling off the unicycle. The show was a disaster! So after the show, his friends got together and told Lantern Fish that his talent was to sell food, drinks and snacks and that was a very important job. I found that the most important thing about the book is that there is a message that tells us that we all have talents inside of us and we just need to find it and believe in it. So I thought the book was very special in that way.
As a parent, most of the time you read a book and then leave it to read again another day, but the author has created the Big Splash Circus website where parents can download free activity sheets such as colour sheets and writing activities to continue discussing the book after reading it. This is absolutely fantastic!
How much does the book cost and how can I order one?
We were sent the paperback copy of the book which is priced at £5.99 while the hardback copy of the book is priced at £11.99. You can buy the book on Amazon, but do check for the latest price as this might fluctuate.

Love to win this for my grandson we so enjoy story time
My Grandson loves the circus this book would be great, due to coronavirus restrictions I am unable to take hin to London’s most famous circus The House of Commons where they hold the Guinness book of record for most clowns (650) appearing together at the same time, they don’t have a high wire act just a Zip wire act where an ex mayor of London’s wearing a comedy white wigwaves Union Jack flags gets stuck half way and gets rescued by fire brigade. Then it’s Hancock’s half hour where the comic/magician Matt Hancock says he’ll produce 2 million vaccines from his top hat, only to find when he puts his hand in his top hat he’s magically made them all into thin air. Finally at five o’clock the show ends with a bloke who appears daily and juggles with COVID figures and SAGE data
Thank you for sharing that John, good luck to you and hope you win this book
This is an interesting story book which my wife would be delighted to receive. She recently move with me here in the UK.
