[Ad-gifted] As a parent, I always think it is important to help children by supporting their learning at home especially when it comes to word building and maths skills. In this post I will be sharing four fabulous learning through play games from Learning Resources which are not only fun to play with but very educational as well. The games which are featured here includes Tackling Tables, Sight Word Swat, Sum Swamp and MathLink Cubes. The learning games make Maths and English more fun for little ones. Do keep on reading to find out more about these games and if you would like to get these for your children or someone you know.

Tackling Tables
Tackling Tables is a card game to help children learn and master the times tables in a fun way by concealing the answer. Great for children from the ages of 5+ the game helps the child not only learn their multiplication but division as well. The set includes a colour-coded times tables chart and 78-colour coded playing card that shows which times tables students need to master each year. The blue cards covers the 1, 2, 5, and 10 times tables. The green card covers 3, 4, and 8 times tables. The red card covers 6, 7, 9, 11, and 12. This game costs £10 and is suitable for a single or more players.

Sight Word Swat
This is a great game to help children learn both commonly used words and some tricky works. Featuring over 300 high-frequency words from phases 2-6, the “tricky” words are highlighted for easy identification to remind children that they can’t sound out these words phonetically. The cards are colour coded with 200 red cards, 32 orange cards, 24 purple cards, 20 green cards and 24 blue cards. This game helps to reinforce basic vocabulary skills, word reading and phonics. The game includes four plastic fly swatters, 150 double-sided flies and instructions. The aim of the game is for the player to race to be the first to cover a complete row on their game cards. Suitable for 1 to 4 players, this game is priced at £15.50.

Sum Swap
This is such a brilliant game for young learners to have fun and learn maths at the same time. Children get to practise maths skill such as addition, subtraction with both odd and even numbers. Children have as much chance of winning as the adults which makes it fun for them. Suitable for 2 to 4 players, the aim of the game is to venture over the crocodile shortcut and through the endless loop by adding and subtracting numbers on the dice. The game includes 43cm x 30.5cm game board, four animal game pieces, two number dice and an operations dice and is priced at £13.

MathLink Cubes
This is a great math activity set to support your child when it comes to early maths skills development. it comes with colourful activity cards and stackable MathLink Cubes combine to develop a variety of basic numeracy skills. Children learn simple arithmetic such as addition, subtraction and multiplication. The set includes 15 double-sided activity cards and 100 MathLink Cubes in ten colours. Priced at £16.50, the MathLink Cubes is great for one or more player.

What we thought of these learning gamesÂ
My son loves English and Maths and is pretty good at it, he played with all the games and found it quite easy for him. I would recommend these games for kids who who are in the early learners category or for those who are older but struggle to learn maths using the conventional method. The games were all well made and the instructions were easy to follow as well. I do love games which promote learning through play and these games definitely promote that. These are also great to be gifted as Birthday or Christmas presents.

Agree 100%, so important for kids to learn through play
These sound really good to help children learn. It’s great that it’s also so eye catching. The cubes are great, we have some I bought years ago.
How wonderful, so glad you have the same
These look like a lot of fun for everyone! Our youngest doesn’t always understand the games we are playing but I think I these would be great for her age but also her older brother and sister.
We do love a board game day x
How lovely, we have been playing lots of board games recently as well Claire

I wish we had something like this when we were at school, I struggled with the times table big time and think the tackling tables would have helepd.
I agree Anosa, I was the same. Kids are so lucky nowadays especially with learning resources such as this
The tackling tables cards would have been so handy when I was younger. I remember just having to repeat them again and again until I tried to remember x
I agree, these are great tools to help learning maths esp if your child is not liking it
This seems like a fun way to learn. The Tackling Tables cards look really handy – I know I struggled with some of my times-tables and would’ve found this so useful.
I agree, I wish I had this when I was young too
We love tackling tables and some of the other games from Learning Resources. Have added Sight Word swat to our christmas list
How wonderful! Thanks for sharing that
I like games that are educational because there is no better way of learning than through fun. Children absorb so much information from such a young age and these kid of games are stimulating their minds much.
I totally agree, that is why I think these games from Learning Resources totally fit the bill
These look great, my two youngest boys would definitely love the sight word splat, although i’m not sure they would only be splatting the words! Their older siblings may need to watch out. I remember using similar cubes when I was at school and that was a LONG time ago!
Hahaha yes tell me about it lol.
We love learning resources, they are fab and have definitely been our holy grail over lockdown . Swamp is one of Alessia’s favourite games !
How wonderful, thank you for sharing that
These are all great learning toys! These will bring more fun times for kids who are being homeschooled for the first time because of the pandemic. I am going to show these to my daughter. I am sure she will get these for her son.
How wonderful! Thank you for sharing that Kristine
Oh gosh I love the sound of all these! I love educational games, mine have no idea they are learning!! Works every time.
Exactly, it is a good way to get little ones to think that they are having fun but they are also learning at the same time
