Ward Thomas Tour 2025 at Crewe Lyceum
[Ad-gifted] Last night the Country Music duo Ward Thomas made a magical one night performance at Crewe Lyceum Theatre in Cheshire, marking the fourth night of their acoustic UK tour. A tour for them that seemed to symbolise big changes in their personal lives. It seems they wanted to symbolise this with something memorable in their music career.
Catherine having recently had a baby, just four months ago, was with his granny in the upstairs of the theatre last night, quietly sleeping! And Lizzy, had recently got married. These stages have marked changes that have given way to create more beautiful music beyond their iconic start with their Gold Award Winning second album Cartwheels that propelled them into stardom back in 2016. So if you want to know how they have evolved and what they sounded like in their acoustic set at Crewe Lyceum last night keep reading…

What did we think of Ward Thomas at Crewe Lyceum?
Last night was a intimate performance by the Country Music twin sisters, Ward Thomas. The theatre was full and created a cosy atmosphere, perfectly suited for the acoustic performance we were about to see.
Ward Thomas have a effortless skill in creating spine tingling harmonies in a way that only sisters can deliver – if you’re familiar with the band First Aid Kit they similarly can create this kind of dynamic, which I believe (as did my stepdad, who is always my Country Music buddy!) is unique to siblings.

They hugged the audience with fun and intimate tales of sistership, weddings, children and all the things which over the years, has inspired their music. It felt as though they were including us in the audience into their personal create insights – where they allowed their true personalities to come through.
As musicians they stood out too, with a keyboard and acoustic guitar as their only accompaniment, bar the occasional and very talented (as my step dad referred to him as the better looking younger brother of Nicholas Cage) addition their musical due, who played a variety of guitars within many of the songs.

The set was well paced with up-tempo tracks woven into slower tempo and more atmospheric tracks. Their writing talent allows them to create meaningful songs that resonate with the audience as they describe reaching varying milestones in their life. I specifically love the track Carry You Home which was beautiful to hear live. You can listen to them here.
All I would say, is I was a little disappointed with that there wasn’t more promotion around their performance. Crewe Lyceum had no posters or outside advertising for the event (which was lightly made comment of by the girls when they arrived on stage) and yet they were surprised to see a large amount of people in the audience!
I am thankful some dedicated fans were there to immerse themselves in such beautiful music… and regardless, it was the perfect venue for this kind of acoustic set.

How much are the tickets to Ward Thomas Tour 2025?

Outstanding review. I’ll have to check out their music as I haven’t heard about them before this. Life changes like marriage and the birth of a child certainly changes one’s perspective on life. Hopefully this was reflected in their performance.
