[Ad-gifted] If you’re looking for the perfect way to relax this summer, the Limited Edition Summer Spritz Spa Day at the Manor House Hotel & Spa in Alsager is a wonderful place to recharge and recover from your hectic lifestyle.
Set within the beautifully restored 17th-century farmhouse in Cheshire East, the award-winning spa offers a peaceful retreat where historic charm meets modern luxury. Combining access to the spa’s extensive thermal facilities, delicious dining and three refreshing spritz flight, the experience is designed to leave you feeling completely refreshed.
From the moment we arrived, the friendly team made us feel welcome, and the tranquil atmosphere made it easy to switch off from the outside world. The spa itself is beautifully designed, with indoor and outdoor relaxation areas, hydrotherapy pools, saunas, jacuzzi, steam rooms and plenty of comfortable spaces to chill and unwind especially if you need a break away from your fast-paced lifestyle.
The bar and restaurants are also open if you fancy a cocktail/hot drink by the pool or meal. There are also massage and facial treatments available if you fancy getting yourself pampered. A great way to spend the day relaxing as a couple or with your girlie tribe.

What Did We Think of the Summer Spritz Spa Day Experience?
As well as being a huge foodie, one of my favourite ways to spend a day is indulging in a girly spa break and I was especially excited to experience this with Metia, who also blogs with Yeah Lifestyle.
We arrived at around 9am, where we were warmly welcomed by the friendly spa team. We were each given a handy spa bag containing a fluffy robe, towel, flip-flop and an empty water bottle. The bag was the perfect size, with plenty of room to carry our own essentials too, including sunscreen, a hat and a book for a relaxing day ahead.
It had been a couple of years since my last visit to the Manor House Spa, so I was looking forward to experience its stunning new Courtyard area. This beautiful outdoor sanctuary is home to the UK’s first outdoor magnesium-enriched spa pool, making it a real standout feature.
The mineral-rich water felt incredibly silky against our skin and is said to help soothe tired muscles, reduce stress and promote a better night’s sleep. We happily spent over an hour simply soaking in the warm water, surrounded by English garden flowers and luxurious swinging day beds, making it the perfect place to switch off and unwind.
We were lucky enough to visit on a warm, sunny day and the temperature of the water was absolutely perfect. If you’re visiting during the cooler months, there’s no need to worry, as overhead patio heaters are positioned above the day beds to keep you warm and cosy while you relax. With plenty of blankets around to keep you toasty.
There are also ample of drinking water stations dotted around the spa, so the complimentary water bottle proved really useful for staying hydrated throughout the day.
Bag and robe storage stations are also located strategically around the spa, allowing us to leave our belongings safely out of the way. It’s a simple but practical touch that helps keep the seating areas, tables and luxurious hanging beds free for everyone to enjoy.
Next, we made our way to the impressive Vitality Pool, home to its iconic swim-up bars, which I’m told are the first of their kind in the UK. After another relaxing dip, we spent some time soaking up the atmosphere.
There were plenty of comfortable places to unwind, including sofas, loungers, chairs and hanging beds, making it the perfect spot to enjoy a drink, curl up with a book or simply relax.
We treated ourselves to a delicious Baileys hot chocolate, which we enjoyed by the pool while chatting and unwinding. As we visited on a weekday, the spa wasn’t overly busy, giving us plenty of space to explore the facilities and enjoy some peaceful moments whenever we wanted to relax.
Salt Steam Inhalation Chamber
Next to the pool area was the Potting Shed Herbal Sauna and the Salt Steam Inhalation Chamber. Both felt incredibly hot when we first stepped inside, but it didn’t take long for our bodies to adjust to the temperature. Afterwards, our skin felt refreshed, making the experience feel especially worthwhile.
The scent in the herbal sauna was absolutely blissful. It genuinely felt as though we had stepped straight into a beautiful English garden, creating a wonderfully calming and immersive experience.
Potting Shed Herbal Sauna
We soon headed to the Panoramic Laconium which has a warm temperature to help deep relaxation. Housed in a glass-walled pavilion featuring hanging swing-seat loungers and heated floors.
The place is perfect to relax as it offers sweeping, peaceful views out over the formal sunken garden and surrounding Cheshire countryside.
It was soon lunch time and included in our package was a choice between Mezze Platter, Seafood Platter, Ploughman’s or Afternoon Tea paired with a selection of refreshing spritz.
I picked the Mezze Platter, which was beautifully presented and full of fresh Mediterranean-inspired flavours. It included a delicious selection of hummus, olives, flatbread, salad, soft cheese and other light bites that were both satisfying and perfect for a relaxing spa day.
Metia, opted for the Afternoon Tea, which looked equally impressive. The elegant selection included freshly prepared finger sandwiches, scone served with clotted cream and jam, an assortment of miniature cakes made for a classic and indulgent treat. Both dining options were generous in portion size and showcased the high standard of food served at the Manor House.
Our meal was served with the Summer Spritz Flight which perfectly complemented the sunny weather. The alcoholic flight included three refreshing cocktails: an Aperol Spritz, a Limoncello Spritz and a Hugo Spritz.
Each offered its own unique flavour, from the bittersweet citrus notes of the Aperol to the zesty freshness of the Limoncello and the light floral elderflower taste of the Hugo Spritz. For the non-alcoholic option, we were served Hugo Spritz, an Orange and Passion Fruit Spritz and a refreshing Raspberry Spritz which was equally tasty.
With our tummies full we were ready to chill and read a book. We made our way to the Sunken Hydrotherapy tub area which was a little more quite and secluded. We found ourselves a hanging bed and decided to sit down to read and relax, enjoying the nice warm weather, sunshine and a little bit of “me” time.
Once we were ready, we enjoyed a relaxing soak in the hot tub before making our way to the indoor Serenity Pool for another swim. As with the other areas, there were plenty of cosy seating spots, making it easy to settle in and unwind.
The pool itself was cooler than I would have preferred, but it more than made up for it with a couple of floating hammocks where we could drift peacefully on the water, along with a swinging bed suspended in the middle of the pool.
We were fortunate that the pool wasn’t too busy, as we only noticed three floating hammocks available. At busier times, a few more would certainly have been a welcome addition.
Although the Summer Spritz Spa Day package doesn’t include a treatment, I decided to treat myself to the 60-minute My Kinda Skin facial. Before we began, my therapist carried out a personalised skin consultation to understand my skin’s needs and select the most suitable products for the treatment.
The facial was wonderfully relaxing, combining a gentle cleanse, exfoliation, a bubbling hydrating mask and a soothing head massage. By the end, my skin felt deeply hydrated, looked noticeably brighter and had a healthy glow, while I left feeling completely refreshed and rejuvenated.
Our Summer Spritz Spa Day certainly exceeded our expectations. From the luxurious spa facilities and attentive staff to the delicious food, refreshing cocktails and indulgent facial, every part of the day felt thoughtfully designed to help us switch off and unwind.
Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion, catching up with gal-friends or simply looking to treat yourself, this package offers fantastic value and everything you could want from a luxury spa escape.
If I had one small suggestion, it would be to add a few clocks around the different pool areas. As I wasn’t wearing my watch and had left my phone safely tucked away, it was impossible to keep track of the time without having to ask a member of staff.
We left feeling completely relaxed, refreshed and already looking forward to returning to Manor House Hotel & Spa in Alsager for another wonderfully indulgent day.
