We are often in the look out for some yummy snack which are easily packed when we head out for picnics or days out with our kids. Hence were excited to find out what out kids thought of these German Chocolate wafer bars which we were sent to review. Knoppers as they are called was launched in Germany in 1983, and has been a popular milk-hazelnut wafer with both adults and kids there and recently been launched in the UK. These bars are made from different layers of crispy baked wafers, milk, nougat cream fillings and roasted hazelnuts. Keep on reading to find out what we thought of it.
We love snacking so were surprised when we realised that we had never heard of Knoppers especially since it has been around for the last 30 years. Here’s a close up photo of the different layers of the bar. As you can see its carefully layered with different flavours.
When we receive items to review, we tend to share them out with our friends and their kids as well to get their opinions to make sure that we give a more accurate and well rounded review. Always skeptical when we receive food items, we passed some to our kids to taste and give us their opinions. As you can see our kids are kind of experts at letting us know if they like something or they don’t…it does not help that we emphasize that their opinion matter and we do share what they say on the blog and they get to read it afterwards.
All our friends and their kids said the same thing as our kids did…which was …that these Knoppers wafer were really delish and moreish indeed. It had so many layers of yummy-ness such as crispy baked wafer biscuits, hazelnut spread, milk cream, cocoa and roasted hazelnuts. Our kids kept asking for more as soon as they finished their bars and wanted to know why we did not have more..it was that good!
It more more evident that these were a hit, when we started getting asked where can they purchase Knoppers as the bars we gave them were not enough. Thank you to the marketing team, please send us more if you have extra, as the smiles on our children’s faces are evidence of how much they love them! To our avid readers….if you spot these in the local supermarkets…trust us and get some, you will love for sure!

I cannot tell you how much I love Koppers! Growing up in Hungary it was one of the first “western” treats we got as children and I still love it!

I love Knoppers, especially these ones covered in chocolate. I usually get them from Lidl but they don’t always have them in stock.
