[Ad-gifted] Professionally painted nails add a polished look (pun intended!) to your hands – making you feel instantly more elegant. But finding the right place to visit can be tricky.
Townhouse Nails has newly opened in Wilmslow, Cheshire, which is only a 35-minute drive from where we are based in Staffordshire. So when we were asked to review it, we thought this would be a chance to head out of town and off to the Manchester Suburbs which are renowned for being littered with footballers and other celebrities and the like.
Townhouse Nails are a London-based company but are planning an expansion into the North and have already opened several other salons beyond their already established Southern portfolio.
So in line with our January campaign, we are sharing how you can slow down and take time for some self-care and Me Time.

What I thought of Townhouse
Getting there was easy, it’s on the main road in Wilmslow and although there is no parking you can park easily across the road at Sainsbury’s. Note, the parking is payable but isn’t overly expensive. Then from there, it’s a short walk to the nail salon.
When entering you have an area that has two large screens where you can check-in by typing in your name which will pull up your booking.

Unfortunately, when I got there, my booking was missing from the system! I spoke with the nail staff who were very helpful and managed to find me a slot 1h later, so this gave me time to take some photos of the salon. I just wish I’d been able to show the fancy check-in feature.

Once my appointment was ready, I was greeted by Yasmin, who asked me whether I would like something to drink. They have a selection of chilled drinks including iced coffee, which is what I had. You then get seated and asked to sanitise your hands – which I found strange – I would have rather washed my hands prior to having the manicure (this is personal preference).
I had shaping and then a gel polish, Yasmin was very pleasant and asked me throughout if what she was doing was okay with me. Once the shaping had been done I was shown a screen with the colour selection available. I had initially wanted a burnt orange pumpkin pie style, but unfortunately, only bright oranges or browns were available, so I opted for purple to match my top on the day.
As it turns out I love the colour. I was also able to have an art detail of a flash line – which you can add on to any of the manicures/pedicures, at an additional charge – you will need to see in your chosen salon for the specific charges.
The colour looks so nice and it’s been a week and I am extremely heavy-handed, so far there has been no movement on the look of my nails, perhaps just at the very tip and maybe slightly less shiny but they still look great!

All in all, I had a lovely experience at Townhouse and I loved how the oils at the end of your treatment were toxic-free and natural – no synthetic oils which I personally hate. That being said, I did however, have a few critiques, The Nail Artists have a strange uniform that feel as though they are about to start work in a craft workshop rather than a salon, they wear navy blue denim – that although looks fairly trendy feels out of place at the salon. I also would have liked a hot drink. I had had to wait an hour for my treatment, and although everyone was very pleasant and I enjoyed my cold brew, it’s not quite the same as sitting there with a nice hot simple coffee.

Usually I am lucky that I have strong nails and have them at a nice length, however they seem to keep breaking at the moment so may look at getting them done professionally and having some tlc
Hope your nails get stronger again so you can get them polished
