Christmas Gift Guide – Children’s Books *

With just three more days before the month of December starts, we are getting ready to churn out various different gift guides for our readers to help them with fabulous gift ideas for the whole family ranging from young toddlers and teens to adults.  We are starting our first Christmas Gift Guides by sharing and featuring children’s books such as The Christmas Play Rehearsal by Sue Wickstead, Mindful Millie by Louis Tribble, Where Next, Teddy? by Emily Shore as well as My Name is Great by Dirk Hampel. The Christmas Play Rehearsal

Well you can’t get more Christmassy then when you are reading this book. The Christmas Play Rehearsal written by Sue Wickstead is a fabulous book about a school which has been getting ready to perform its Nativity play. With lines learned and sons to be sung, it’s time for the dress rehearsal. The teacher knows they might run into a few problems, but will it all work out in the end? The 36-page Christmas picture book is aimed at kids aged 5 to 8 years of age and is a great read more so during Christmas time.   Kids will enjoy reading this book as it brings them along the works of a Nativity play as they looking at the colourful illustrations by Helen Smith.  The author Sue Wickstead is also a primary school teacher who has been working across Sussex and Surrey for over 20 years. Mindful Millie

Mindful Millie is a children’s book about an elephant called Millie. She is a very peaceful loving character who maintains her positive mental health and cares for others by acting mindfully. We loved this book at it teaches children to understand mindfulness and how they can use it in their everyday life especially when dealing with their emotions, daily stresses and happy experiences. The author, Louise Tribble has used large words throughout the book, this is great if your little one is learning to read on their own. The illustrations by Rhiannon Thomas is also very captivating as the colours and style she has used mimics watercolour painting. The author, Louise who has struggled with mental illness since childhood has written this book using her experience and believes that this book would help other young children to develop skills that could help them cope with what life brings.  This book’s ISBN Number is 978-1-999798-0-4 and this retails on Amazon for £6.99 and you can order your copy here for your child or someone you know would benefit from reading this book.

Where Next, Teddy?

Where Next, Teddy (A Little Adventure for Thomas) by Chapterful is a book about Teddy and Thomas (my son) who heads off on a dreamy adventure from outer space to the bottom of the sea, from the wild jungle to the big city, and everywhere in between. What’s great about this book is that you can personalise it for your child or someone you know.  The website is easy to navigate by clicking on options, we were asked to insert a name, pick a gender, select hair colour (from a choice of 5 colours), pick if we wanted to add glasses on, there was even a wheelchair option as well as to add a personal message in the book. This is fabulous especially if you want to send a child a personalised book.  My son loved this as it allowed his imagination to flow, he felt that it was him travelling to all these places and the illustrations by Hedi Fekete was so child-friendly and eye-catching. My Name is Great 

My Name is Great by Dirk Hampel is a personalised colouring book which allows you to reveal the magical meaning behind the letters of your name. Every letter has a unique and special story behind it while every page is waiting to be brought to life! We ordered the book for my son who is four. He was able to recognise his name and was so pleased when he found it. The book tells of a story encompassing each alphabet from his name and what they mean. They really seemed to ring true with my son’s little personality and it was a really cute story one that I am sure he will want to hear again and again. The other fun thing about the book is the fact that you are able to colour it in. This would make a great gift for grandparents to give to their grandchildren or family members/friends who simply want to get something a little more personal as a gift at Christmas. The book is priced at £19.90, and it can also be purchased in different currencies such as EURO, GBP, USD, AUD, NZD, MXN, ARS, CLP so remember to change the currency to GBP (or whichever currency you prefer) before you order the book.
