With the second lockdown in motion and if you’re feeling worried about ways you can entertain your children during this time again, then take a look at our latest review of Geomag Classic 365 Confetti. This construction toy is great for a lover of lego or mechano. It uses the same thought processes involved in these building games and as well as encouraging strategy it also involves a certain amount of creativity.
Geomag is a construction game designed and developed by inventor Claudio Vicentelli, in Switzerland. It is a plastic and metal toy, that consists of little bars with magnets on the ends that are all connected together with small marble-sized balls. Geomag are conscious of the fact that they use plastic and have recently ensured all their manufacturing is made using recycled plastic, ensuring they are not making an unnecessary impact on the world through the use of sustainable materials.

What I thought of Geomag
My youngest son was really excited to play with this toy. Once opened he spent a good hour playing happily. Then once his older brother came home he spent another hour playing with him. Overall it has great playability, and there are lots of good instructions, which make the diagrams easy to follow and build from. There are not only the bars and magnetic balls but also little pieces that fit in-between to solidify the structures you can build.
This meant that when my boys decided to go off and make their own creation, they were able to make a nice little tower with a roof, due to the fact that they could add in little walls to their pieces. But their favourite thing was to try and build some of the complicated shapes that are included in the set instructions. I almost think they’d enjoy a little diagram booklet to see what other things they could possibly make.

The set had a good amount of pieces but the one issue we found was that most of the diagrams after the first few at the top of the sheet, could only be built if you had more sets. Which I suppose is good if you have more, but as this is the first set of Geomag that we have ever had, we were unable, or should I say the boys were unable to build all the structures they wanted. I would suggest Geomag perhaps saying on some of the images that this requires so many sets etc so that you might know if you can’t build it with the set you have.
All in all this is a great construction toy, however, could just do with the instructions including builds with the pieces you receive within each of the sets. But they still played for hours and they really enjoyed the ease in which they could build breakdown and re-build. I would also note that this toy could be great for a girl who loves to build too, its just that my daughter has never been interested in construction toy hence why she didn’t play this time!

Where can you buy Geomag?
This 83 piece set can be bought on Amazon.
How much is Geomag?
This confetti set containing 83 pieces cost £50 – which is pretty pricey but you have to think that this is a forever toy and I don’t think would get easily broken or suffer from much wear and tear.
About Geomag
Claudio Vicentelli invented Geomag back in 1998, with the idea being that this was to develop the minds of children, in a way that is fun as well as being educational. Geomag had a rocky start with heavy competition, but with a relaunch back in 2007, it proved its presence and potential sustainability and is now in millions of homes around the world.
It has a clear focus on being a responsible business. They have set up a code of ethics so that their company and the people that work there, all follow Geomag’s goals around suitability. They also provide funding for projects within their local community and encourage work in trying to fight hunger for children, and set out goals to develop ways in which they can provide good eduction for everyone, and not just those in developed countries.
This is a toy company but that is reaching beyond its status which I think is pretty admirable in our current climate.

I have always thought and believe that if a game can be educational and develop a child’s faculties, it is an excellent choice. So wow!
I totally agree, I feel the same way too as a parent
This is such a fun game for kids. Plus it creative and allows them to work on it! Thanks for reviewing.
You are welcome

Can’t agree with you more
This seems really educational and worthwhile! Really cool product!
Thank you, it is a lovely toy
I never know this toy was created back in 1998. I’m sure my son will love this, always want to get a set for him. This is also safer I guess lol. No more stepping on stray Legos.
Yes totally, as stepping on lego totally hurts
My youngest is such a fan of these sort of toys. She would love it for the holidays.
Such a great gift as well, worth getting it
These magnet toys are all the rage. I see them in preschools, homes, and online all of the time. We have a couple of sets. You’re right, they are a little pricey, but they’re worth it.
They sure are as kids totally love them and they last forever
That looks like a lot of fun. I wish we had some of these when my daughter was little. I may pick up some for gifts for the kids on my list.
How wonderful, thanks for sharing that
I feel like I played with one of these when I was a child. It is definitely a great toy for children to own. It is a lot of fun and will keep them busy for hours.
