Classic and Smart Phone Solution Bicycle First Aid Kit Review *

by Yeah Lifestyle

We review SJ Works Bicycle First Aid Kit on our blog

We were contacted by SJ Works, a company which started in Copenhagen to review two of their First Aid Kits for Bicycle, the first, a Classic First Aid Kit with all the essentials which is lightweight enough to be strapped on to the frame of your bike especially on long rides while the second is a smaller kit with optional smartphone solution. This is great for kids, teen or adult bicycles as well.

As per expert at ICEBike.org, having the correct bike size is not just a matter of comfort but it can prevent injury both short and long term, and allows you to have a much better riding experience as a result.

The main purpose for creating these first aid kits is, to make it safe for cyclists as they explore both city and rural areas.  Hope you enjoy reading our review of both these product and hopefully, this post would encourage you to get these kits if you are an avid cyclist.

First Aid Kit with Smart Phone Solution

This First Aid Kit bag can easily be strapped on to your bicycle as its lightweight, it also has a large and sensitive transparent touch panel on the top of the bag for you to place your phone when riding the bike.  As seen on the photo, the zipper is on the top section of the bag for easy retrieval of the first aid items if needed.  Its also perfectly designed for you to place your mobile phone in the bag when you go riding as it gives you the hands-free option using the 3.5mm headphone extension cord which is supplied with this kit. The bag is well designed for easy fitting of phone and wires, there is also a small hole at the side/bottom of the bag to make it easier for inserting the headphone extension.  The kit also came with an emergency light which can be fitted on the bike.  We tested this on our soon to be teen’s daughter’s bike and it was perfect in size and was not obstructing her riding her bike at all, I fitted my mobile phone into the clear compartment easily and it was no hassle getting it in /out at all.  This First Aid Kit is currently on discount for £25 and can be purchased here. This first aid kit bag is small, compact and lightweight, great for kids / teens / road bike or mountain bike cyclist. It comes with the following items:

– Emergency First Aid Guide Booklet (consisting of some basics first aid instructions).

– plasters

– triangular bandage

– antiseptic wipes

– an elastic bandage

– pressure bandage

– tape

– sterile sponges

– emergency blanket (38in x 60in)

– reflective fluorescent red wrist strap

– emergency bike light (battery not included)

– 3.5mm Headphone Extension Cord M/F

Classic First Aid Kit
The second First Aid Kit Bag had a more classic theme to it. This was tested and fitted on my husband’s mountain bike, and he actually took it out for a test on one of his weeknight rides. The kit fitted really snugly to his mountain bike and he was really impressed with how easy it went on and came off, his only suggestion was to have an additional pocket that could also fit in a few essential bike repair tools.  The bag is sectioned off with pockets and the zip is positioned underneath so that you can access it once it is fastened onto you bike – this means you don’t have to remove it to get any of the products out. The bag is also reflective as you can see from the images which means that when another lit vehicle is approaching the bag almost lights up like a beacon another handy addition to the bike is that it also comes with a small light that can be attached to the front handlebars or rear seat. The price of £27 isn’t too bad either, as if you had to buy each of the individual items inside I don’t think you would be far off that without the handy bag. This First Aid Kit is currently on discount for £27 and can be purchased here

Thank you for your lovely comment and feedback Joan and for stopping by, we are glad that you have thought of this wonderful idea for bikers out there to keep them safe.

I love this idea, especially as you can probably fit other items in there like a bottle of water and your keys. One reason why I don’t bike so much is because I’m worried of getting lost or stranded somewhere without these types of necessities! x

It’s always good to be prepared, especially when you have children. This would be a great idea for family bike rides- I love how portable they are.

Reply
yeahlifestyle September 18, 2018 - 9:16 pm

We have to agree about their lightweight feature and portability as well Jenn, and having kids ourselves we know how easy it is for them to fall off their bikes and hurt themselves

Now if they could throw in a bike repair toolkit too this would be THE BEST bike accessory ever! I need one of these for my bike!

These are such a brilliant idea. Jack is just learning to ride his bike. We could definitely do with one of these for when we go on family bike rides.

I’m not a cyclist (don’t have the balance for it), but my grandfather used to ride all the time (in Malibu, on PCH, yikes!) This is definitely a must-get for buyers!

Why didn’t I think of something like this? A first aid kit that attaches to your bicycle? This is so important, especially if you are on a family bike trip or a cyclist that does long distance. Such a wonderful idea.

Reply
yeahlifestyle September 19, 2018 - 10:55 am

That’s what we thought Becky when we first received the product, its something so essential but no one else has thought about x

Reply
Christa September 19, 2018 - 12:18 am

This is such a great idea! Falling off bikes is a common occurrence. Treating any injuries immediately is preferable to riding to help.

Yes we agree Christa, thanks for stopping my our blog

We must always carry a first aid kit. This is really important, especially when we travel. But having a first aid kit that could be attached to your bike is really a nice thing. This is really helpful.

yeahlifestyle September 19, 2018 - 10:54 am

Yes we agree, having a first aid kit in hand is so important, especially if you have young kids as they are so prone to fall and injure themselves.
