I find that this is the season we pack away majority of our garden equipment, outdoor toys and make the best of the dry warm evenings as we tuck in a warm blanket sitting by the fire in the garden.

Do remember that if burning candles, place them on a heat-resistant base and do shorten the wick to approx. 0.5 cm before each relighting to contain the flame. Do also keep an eye to make sure the wicks have enough distance to the edge of the glass. If a wick is too close to the edge of the glass, extinguish the flame and return the wick to its original position before the wax cools down. Also note that as a rule of thumb, candles should not be allowed to burn for longer than four hours.  After putting out the flame, let the candle cool for two hours before relighting.

Heated Throw Blanket by VonHaus

With the latest energy crisis hitting he UK, we find that like many other households, we are trying to reduce our heating bill by limiting how long we turn our heating on for.
